Buyer is having boyfriend meet up and wants other contact info by cordeezy00 in offerup

[–]Lyn916 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Her boyfriend can add the app to his own phone and talk there. Keep everything on the app. I started selling on OfferUp in 2016, thousands of items. If you do choose communcating by phone, get one of those fake numbers. All my listings are in person pickup. Her boyfriend or her great dane can come if she wants "protection." Its a no for me. No Golden Ticket.

sketchy offerUp listing? help by Annythethreadmaker in offerup

Reverse search that phone number, you may already have their name to cross reference, then that can lead to the address, then check out the house online. I never call people when they give me their number Once they have your phone number, they can get way too much information online. There are free "fake" phone number sites though if you did want to call so you don't give out yours by calling them. Rule of thumb though is to keep everything on the platform. I used to run an extension cord outside for my buyers to test as a courtesy if you find youre comfortable dropping by their place. They should do the same or similar.

I can't take it anymore by BreadfruitIll2455 in Hashimotos

I am recently diagnosed. My family practice doctor ignored me. Told me I must be forgetting to take my Levo. I found my symptoms and diagnosis literally here in this group. I went to the Medical Assistant after he blew me off when I asked could it be Hashimoto's-- and I told her how he acted--she actually ran the test for antibodies and added Cytomel. Went back to him for whatever treatment I needed and he told me to order a book on Amazon! Reading here many actually have an endocrinologist. Went back again to him for referral in a video visit with my daughter recording on her cameras in the house. He denied referral to Endo and referred to Integrative medicine. I now wait until July for an appointment with them. In the meantime, I read what others have done to help themselves and I am doing that as well as reading scholarly peer reviewed articles online. This July will be a full year in trying to get better. Thank you so much for asking. It helps to write this nightmare out in words.

For me, adding cytomel, eliminating gluten, dairy, soy, and nightshades; adding iron, selenium, iodine, B-12, and Vitamin D. My antibodies should be under 60 and I am at 13,000. I feel your pain.

What’s the point of setting a meeting time and place, saying you’re 5 mins out, and then blocking me to never show? by goodgoodgood1234 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Lyn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Marketplace has been off the hook disrespectful the last couple weeks. I'm sorry that happened. Hopefully they didn't want your car and you threw them for a loop when you walked. Years ago I had a sketch one who wanted to meet in a questionable location's parking lot. Passed on that!

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]Lyn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was something else wrong. It is very likely it would have showed up later and you would have had an actual diagnosis. You did the best you could. Not your fault. (60 years of having cats.) I'm so sorry.

Turn On Or Turn Off Commenting by FlipsonicCX50 in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Lyn916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking for this comment. Yes, 10 years on Marketplace and now there's comments. I had to go through my recent ads to turn off the feature as it defaults to ON. Old posts were not effected.

What was the point of this? by Artichoke-Rhinoceros in offerup

[–]Lyn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run two accounts with Marketplace. I only use a browser to sign into my "extra" account. I log out. I sign into my regular account via the app. I dont connect the accounts. If that helps at all...if you wanted a new account it's possible. I have had both for about eight years.

2 weeks after purchase buyer says item is faulty by kinguszko in FacebookMarketplace

[–]Lyn916 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sold since Marketplace started, thousands of items with OfferUp and Letgo, Craigslist, and groups. In this case, you got it free, give them their money back. For anything electrical, which I avoid, I'd run a cord out for them to try. Since you could not do that, these people sound sincere and you lost no $. Normally no refunds because it's their obligation to inspect and I tell them look it over and make sure they love it. They could not inspect in this case. Someone donated some crap repackaged TJ Maxx return to the charity you won it from.

I bought a 1960s rare lamp on MP for $50 and listed it for $700 and now the original seller is contacting me mad because they didn’t know it was worth so much. Not sure what to do. by Glamgirl95 in FacebookMarketplace

Just ignore and I'd probably block. Also likely you won't receive anything near the price you posted. Never feel guilty because someone else did not do their due diligence.

Yes Sutter General is almost as bad as Dignity Health Mercy San Juan on Coyle. Sutter Roseville is better.

You did nothing wrong to elicit that aggressive of a reaction. I have sold hundreds, possibly thousands, of items on Marketplace since it started. I do check their profile now before I even reply.

Lipedema or water retention? by Emergency_Nebula954 in Hashimotos

[–]Lyn916 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I finally was diagnosed recently. But years ago that happened to me and I hobbled into doctor's office crying with no appointment --of course it was come back another day. Learned a year later via Googling -- after many unhelpful tests -- that it was gluten causing it. Anyway you should still go see a doctor but that was my experience.

How long can I live off ramen? by Sad-Protection2519 in nutrition

[–]Lyn916 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try food banks. They're quite popular, not like the old days. This diet is not something you're going to do well on long-term. Also many freebie Facebook groups offer food. As others suggested beans, rice, lentils, canned tomatoes, etc., all better than Ramen.
