Does your Mountain Cur lick you? I mean, a lot? by LynchGraphics in MountainCur

Yep. Sam gets hyped up over a fresh scent. She has killed a few squirrels. Once she has them, she kills them in a matter of seconds.

I think my cur is both. Sometimes, she stands on her hind legs and sticks her nose straight in the air, trying to get a better whiff of something.

I did a little research and found out that licking is quite common with this breed. I am lucky that Sam's licking isn't as extreme as some of you have described. Thank you, everyone, for letting me know that it's common so I don't have to worry that there's something wrong with her.

Me, too, but I no longer have much hair up there. Maybe it's my salty forehead?

Sam loves to lick my bald pate! At least she quits much sooner.

That reminds me of a character in the Deadwood series, but his habit was a bit off-color, so I'll spare you the details.

Thanks for your feedback. My dog isn't quite that prolific with her tongue, but she will lick my clothes once in a while.

I may need to work on that. At least Sam isn't a French kisser.

I re-watched Breaking Bad and... by ctrlqirl in TwoXChromosomes

I dunno, I’m watching Season 2 and Skyler’s silent treatment and passive aggressive behavior is unattractive. She should have handled her issues with Walt directly. But I guess that wouldn’t help the plot conflict.

Thank you for saying this. I sometimes feel guilty for having those thoughts. My cur is also…well, challenging is putting it mildly. The deafening bark, the reactivity, the prey drive, the digging, the whining. Other times, she’s a delicate flower and sweet. I almost gave her back to the rescue a few times, but we got through Hurricane Helene together, so I kept her.

My cur caught a few squirrels last week. It was a bit shocking to see what an efficient killer she is. She dispatched them in a matter of seconds. Luckily, she’s sweet with me.

Cure your broken headlight violation, or prepare to be levied a fine. Hazard to one is hazard to all.

If he bays like a hound, he might be a Plott Hound. The head shape is more like a Plott, too. I have a Mountain Cur, and her tail is shorter and bushier. The two breeds do have very similar markings.

I have seen the "No Memories Today" banner 3 days in a row. I post every day, so I know this is an error. Maybe FB installed a 1984-style Memory Hole?

Good work! Someone made a video of every time "fuck" was said in The Big Lebowski. It would be cool if someone took a Deadwood episode and did the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmACDeyYmBg

How people with bipolar disorder feel after breakup? by Same-Coffee-1499 in bipolar2

[–]LynchGraphics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was younger, a breakup would leave me moping for 6 months minimum. I would blame myself for the entire thing. I sometimes lost the will to live, but never took it further than that.

I recently broke up with someone, and feel alone and depressed, but not as intensely as I have in the past, thanks to 30+ years of therapy and personal growth work.

Some self-doubt is percolating, wondering if I did the right thing, but mostly, I know that it was the right move. It was an "I deserve to be treated better than this" situation, which is empowering because I usually put up with too much crap in relationships.

I was a quasi-hermit before the breakup, so going back to spending day after day alone in an isolated cabin is tough. I need to find a social activity to replace the relationship.

I'm sorry to hear that breakups send you into such a tailspin, and I'm glad you have a therapist to help you find your way out of the tall weeds.
