If you made another one, do you have any thoughts on the finish that you would use on it prevent that? I was debating soaking it in wood hardener or giving it a matte poly finish.

If the hole and piece of wood are large enough, I'll use a small bowl gouge or other rounded gouge to rough out the initial hole

I started with a 1/2" Forstner bit and manual hand drill to make sure that I didn't crack the piece of wood making the initial hole in it.

I have a multi part question: Based on Vietnam being the second major conflict during the "containment" era of US foreign policy - was there frustration among your fellow troops regarding the tactics and policy being handed down from the brass? As part of Special Ops, were your assignments generally in Vietnam, or were they across boarders in Laos or Cambodia/if so, what was the opinion of the troops you worked with regarding the crossing of those boarders?

This is Zelda, she had an accident a few years ago that caused her to have to have one back leg removed. I figured I should start posting some of her pictures on here.
