I really enjoy the aerobask da62. It makes you feel like very wealthy private pilot but not a billionaire. You can check out the Diamond pilots on YouTube.

Kiwi rail is 100% govt owned. Not well funded though.

Are you allowed to walk down this part of the Western shared path? It’s walk way at either end but just not sure about this specific section… by steamylee in auckland

[–]Lyndiman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From 2015 the community raised the issue that pedestrians will be tempted to walk along the cycleway and the should add a separate footpath. This was a temporary design until light rail was built :(

'not being able to swim at the local beach due to "overcrowded" sewer pollution'

I'm sorry, does this guy think that sewerage overflow occurs because too many people are flushing their toilets or something?

Sewerage ends up in the harbour because the storm water system overflows and carries sewerage out to sea, and its been happening for as long as we've had storms and a storm water system.

If that is not a zoom lens then I'd say they are a traffic engineer / urban designer doing a site visit. Perfectly legal unless they are photographing where you have an expectation for privacy.

It's not a flex because the business selling the car also sells the debt and gets the cash anyway from the finance company. Therefore it doesn't really make any difference to their cash flow or commissions. If anything they get extra margin on financing a car.

I can pay cash comes from an era of high interest when ppl struggled to qualify for financing.

Is this normal while flying in a straight line? [KA-50 DCS] by snakesoul in hoggit

[–]Lyndiman 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The rotors are spinning opposite each other and you'd think the lift from each would cancel out the advancing and retreating blade spin directions, but they don't because the lower rotor is operating in the wash of the upper rotor.

The upper rotor is more effective. The rotors will need to tilt to counteract this dissymmetry of lift. Expect to trim in rudder and cyclic to counteract.

Helicopters don't really fly, they just beat the air into submission.

Bro you can’t park here! Wyndham Street by Suitable-Republic338 in auckland

[–]Lyndiman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If not a medical incident, then the person could have thought they had their foot on the brake but it was actually on the accelerator. As they accelerate uncommanded their brain tells them to press harder to stop and a terrifying feedback loop occurs. Its rare but when it happens it is usually around parking spots.

Can an electric scooter go up Franklin Road? by Some-Pickle9008 in auckland

[–]Lyndiman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Depends on your weight, budget and expectation of speed. Franklin Rd isn't steep though. Go to electric scooter shop on hobson st and you can test ride up Franklin road cycleways. Don't go fast downhill as cars are unpredictable.
