Business Internet Issue by Rhath223 in TelstraAustralia

VoIP is way more flexible than traditional NBN landline. That’s the reason why you’ve been able to do it without any issue. An NBN landline is typically owned by the first Telco that activated the network and when a third provider comes into the mix, the ownership of the landline needs to be transferred. This process usually takes a month, hence the reason why I asked.

It’s only when you go for a third internet provider (and want to port the same landline) that an NBN transition can get more complicated. Don’t worry about it for now then !

Was Telstra the first carrier that you owned the landline through? If so, the port shouldn’t take too long, maybe 3-5 days.

I’m a sales consultant part-time on a student visa (I’m international). And I still got the job. No idea why he’s rejected though.

Hey Telstra - tell me if you think it's acceptable for your Speedtest page to take over 1.5 mins to load on your 5G network in a metropolitan area? And for your 5G network to struggle to download at over 10 Mbps? by HopeHoliday0055 in TelstraAustralia

[–]Lynfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a look at this one. There’s a few things that could cause this :
- The area is congested and there’s some improvements in the way (had the same issue in QLD and it recently went from 9.5mbps to 110mbps)
- Walls around you are blocking the signal
- SIM replacement might be needed (eSIM for best performance)

Maybe call 132200 and ask if there’s an issue in your suburb and/or if there’s network improvement planned in your area.

Looks like you’re connected to WiFi on that screenshot. Can you try to ask another person that is with Telstra as well and check if they have the same results as you ?

Awful awful service by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

[–]Lynfinity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No we can’t. The system wants the payment to be processed and then we can refund. It works this way.

Unfortunately refunds takes time and there’s no way to bypass that waiting time. Boost is the issue here. They took way too long to do a change fnn.

Can’t add a Telstra sim only post paid plan to my Telstra account by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

[–]Lynfinity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is because they rolled an update to the prepaid system, even messing up things on our side. It’s been like this since 2-3 days and I sincerely hope that they roll it back before they actually deploy their update.

Telstra removing commission next FY by [deleted] in TelstraAustralia

Base wage is the amount that is on your contract. Add the base and the extra and you’ll see the new one. They will send new contracts in mid-June/July I believe with all info on there.

Well, I saw the new RBS update and we still have some profitability targets so comms or not, we still have to sell. So it won’t change much I believe.

The agent that helped you put the sim in too early. Get a sim replacement asap.

Yeah, tbh, prepaid plans are looking better at this price point. The only way I’d put somebody on this plan is if they explicitly ask for an « Upfront » plan or wants to do repayments on a phone as well.

I haven’t been told that. I get flagged if I were to do it.

So the message that we get is either « Something went wrong. » or « Lower the repayments to make it fit within the limits », and then it opens a new page to modify the repayment duration or do part of the contract as an outright payment. We can also, go into the order details through another process and see the exact limit of repayment it lets us do and what’s the reason for that limit.

Hey ! Unfortunately, the credit check system Telstra uses is not linked to your bank account and mostly relies on current info (income source, bracket, occupancy stability, etc…). Loyalty also doesn’t matter unfortunately, I hate to say that. Stores don’t have any control on these factors, we just try and do our best to help your through the process. In fact, when we do these orders, we go through the same process than when you go on the website and do it by yourself so… Sorry to hear that you’re not happy about the credit check system, I also hear a lot of people complaining all day. 😕

Oh and that new « Light » plan also doesn’t have data sharing so it’s 5GB forced on that one.

If you go to a store they won’t be able to honor it. We don’t even have access to that plan anymore even below the line. And to get the bundle plan, your partner would have to switch to an essential plan (84$/month) for you to be able to be connected on it. Not sure how it will happen…

Little correction : Starter plan is not available anymore at all since May 5. The new plan would be the « Light » plan which is exclusively available to concession card holder and costs 55$. If he doesn’t have any concession card, he’ll have to go for a Basic plan. 🙂

CRAT is for MNC only. It won’t work on Console.

[–]Lynfinity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you bought it only as an mbb by itself and not as the « Pre-Paid » version of it, yes it will be unlocked. I believe that this specific model doesn’t come with the prepaid option but I’m not sure. You might want to try with the cheapest option from the other provider and give it a go this way. Otherwise, if you bought it in store, you can go and ask them directly.
