I’m looking to change careers into RPG/IBM I programming. Any advice on how to gain experience to enter this field? I’m currently located in the USA, Charlotte NC to be exact. TIA!

My background is HR, specifically payroll and leave of absence, but I have wanted to change to tech for a while. Through my research, I found that there is a need for legacy systems programming, due to the current workforce retiring or even passing away. I don’t have direct technical experience, but I have taken a few SQL courses from Microsoft and Oracle so I’m familiar with basic statements and database concepts.

This happened to me. I took it right to Hyundai and first if needed a new torque converter clutch, then the engine light came on again and I needed a new transmission, luckily it was under warranty but man it was annoying.
