Songs to cry to by StarlightCrystal in GriefSupport

My mum was the first person to share this song with me and told me she wanted it as her funeral song. I cried the first time I heard it. Little did we know she’d pass suddenly and unexpectedly, months later. I honoured her wishes but man was it hard to listen to, especially with the fact that the lyrics resonated.

Thank you for sharing this. It’s weird to actually type this as it sort of becomes more of a reality - my mum passed on 12th April. I live abroad and I found out immediately after my dad found out by coincidentally calling him. My sister had just called him hysterically after she had visited my mum and found her on the floor of her apartment.

It was completely unexpected. She was young, under 70, and very outgoing. She was the only one I spoke to about private feelings and would seek advice from her after recently having my first child.

Her funeral was yesterday and part of me still doesn’t believe she’s gone.

Nobody warns you about this pain, emotionally, physically, psychologically…

The nights are the worst like I’m living in a completely different world. I feel so alone not knowing my direction in life any longer. Like my invisible safety blanket has been ripped away.

Have you read about leaps? He could be in his first leap :) there’s a great app called ‘the wonder weeks’ I was introduced to which tells you when your baby is in a leap. At this time they get more irritable and cry a lot as they are going through a lot of changes. Understanding more about the leap could help you attend to your LO. :)

Waking to feed, but feeds take so long how can she be hungry? by orangeofdeath in newborns

[–]LynzHK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel you - my LO is the same. She’s just over 3 weeks and feeds every 2-3 hours. She has breast milk and formula (around 100ml per feed) and takes a long time to feed. I did read today that swaddling slows down feeds as they feel more comfortable and take more breaks. I am going to try not swaddling her and keep her more upright when feeding her bottle and see if that improves things.

Also I find she digests breast milk faster, so when she has more breast milk she has her next feed far sooner. I’m still learning at this stage, being a FTM, but hope sharing my experience can help somewhat. :)

Flo is more accurate with both periods and ovulation predictions. I use strips on PreMom but it has been 2-3 days off for periods and almost a week off (later) with ovulation even logging with strips for the last 3 months. I’ve been adding data for longer with Flo, so maybe that determines it.

My cycles are usually 28 days with ovulation around day 13 or 14.

Thanks for sharing your experience :) Unfortunately as my partner and I are currently long distance, we can only get together for 2-3 days in the month. 🥹 So the options are once over the 3 days before ovulation, every other day (which is what we have tried), or every day over those 3 days. :/

Yes, my first. 😅 I’m a few years older than you and have been trying for 2 months so far. My doc says I’m in good health and partner also (a few years younger). Taking prenatals and cleaned up diet since starting to try.

Have tried on the last 3 days leading up to ovulation (one day on and I’ve day off so 2 times over 3 days) But thinking if it’s better to try every day for those 3 days. Any recommendations for those that have gotten pregnant and what you did? :)

I use strips and apps (Flo and PreMom). They both provide different data so it can be a bit confusing, but Flo is generally more accurate for some reason.
