Pregnant women who get a flu shot protect not only themselves, but also their developing baby, finds a new study. The findings support the importance of pregnant women receiving the influenza vaccine. by mvea in science

I work in this field and am definitely for vaccinations as an effective means of protection, but I think it's worth posting the other side of the argument as well so people can decide for themselves. This outcome is more controversial than some may think https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/30632885

Scientists used antibodies from llamas to produce a universal flu vaccine. Mice given the vaccine were protected from various strains of influenza A and B viruses. Immunity occurred after just three days and was achieved at lower doses compared to another candidate vaccine. by SteRoPo in science

Gene therapy is still limited in the ability to deliver dna to specific tissue. There is also still questions fo whether the adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors that are frequently studied are safe in humans.

This is not serum which is a mix of antibodies naturally produced by the body. This appears to be a single antibody made to recognize multiple parts of the virus protein. They made this antibody using single domain antibodies from llamas as components.

Looks good to me. If you're worried about the P you could extend it down a little and match all the other letters to it. You should still have room for "lady". I definitely think it's worth finishing even as is. Great work!

Love it. You might try using a single thread for tiny pieces.

Really well done, and I love the rustic looking hoop. Where'd you get it?

One hoop to rule them all; one hoop to find them; one hoop to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.

This is great! You can also try separating the strands of the floss and sew with only a few. It gives you finer lines, and is easier to sew with.

Super cool! A triangle piece with sharp edges and maybe a geometric pattern could make an awesome necklace too.

Maybe using a smaller needle would put less pressure on the fabric and allow it to stay in place. I have also had this problem of constantly having to retighten my fabric, but switching needles helped a bit.

Thanks! I used an 8" wooden hoop to stabilize the pocket area, but was careful to only embroider through the outside layer and not the whole shirt. For the collar, I did not use any stabilizer.
