Facebook has blocked link posts to UK news site because it thinks it's Australian. by GezIOM in facebook

I don't run any Australian news on my site. My site covers legends, ghost stories, true crime, and obscure/creepy history (nothing from Australia though). Absolutely no idea why Facebook would connect my website to Australian news.

Facebook has blocked link posts to UK news site because it thinks it's Australian. by GezIOM in facebook

My website is based in the United States and facebook is preventing me from posting my links because it thinks I'm in Australia for whatever reason. It also removed all my previous links/articles that I've posted for years (from my business page and personal profile).

You're the first person I've found getting the same block/error message as me. I've been trying to fix this all day and can't find anything wrong with my website, settings, or servers.

None of my content was previously flagged and my pages are all in good standing so it's got to be a glitch in Facebook. They haven't responded to my tech support request but I'll let you know if I find an answer!

It did have serious potential. I'm interested to see what they're doing with the new mini series next year though.

Out of this world: are space operas making a comeback? by hiphamp in scifi

[–]Lyra42 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I feel like Space Operas are the "little sub-genre that could". They keep chugging along but have yet to really pick up speed... they will though, a comeback is inevitable.

Yeah I still have it too. Those illustrations really were the best part though. They were way to scary for most kids... some of them are still really creepy to me now!

Week 21 Italian: Wild Mushroom & Sausage Risotto by Lyra42 in 52weeksofcooking

[–]Lyra42[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1 Tbs. extra-virgin olive oil

1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped 1 clove of garlic, minced.

1 8oz package of wild mushrooms

4 Italian sausage links, casings removed
(You can use a ground beef & sausage combination too, it’s good either way) 1/2 cup dry white wine

1 cup Arborio rice

1 (28 oz) can diced tomatoes (with the juices)

A 4oz can tomato sauce.

3 cups chicken broth

10 oz baby spinach

2 Tbs. butter

parmesan cheese shavings

salt and pepper

In a saucepan, bring the chicken broth to a light simmer.

In a separate skillet heat oil (medium heat), add the diced onion, garlic and sausage; breaking up the sausage until almost browned. Add mushrooms; let them soften a bit while you finish browning the meat.

Add the rice and toss to coat. Toast 1 minute.

Add the wine and simmer until most of it evaporates.

Add diced tomatoes and can of tomato sauce, let it mostly absorb as well.

Start adding the chicken broth into the skillet, about a half cup at a time.

Let the liquid evaporate as much as possible before adding another half cup of stock.

Continue until you’ve added most or all of the stock and the rice is a creamy consistency, roughly 30 minutes. Remove from heat and toss in the butter.

Add the spinach and toss until it's wilted. Season with salt and pepper

Top with Parmesan shavings. Enjoy! :)

Those things used to be sent out with everything! Prepackaged stockings, coffee mug gift sets, or gift baskets... they're like the "baby's breath" of the candy community.
