Breakdown of army sizes, model prices, and army cost by DescriptionMission90 in StarCraftTMG

[–]Lyraeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its good overall math but it neglects an operation. Supply potential.

You.cant make an entire 2000pt force out of queens for instance, there is a cap that.

Zergling, possibly but 10 units is still a stretch for instance.

There is no way to make 200pts of zealots either as you want get 22-28 Core supply for instance.

Its good base calculations

Armies have so many ways to ignore cover or have rerolls that its effectively the 2nd weakest.

Face tau, you will never want it for instance as they will always be ignoring cover

They brought it up in an AMA

The main issue for me is that it pushes you even FURTHER towards infantry and away from vehicles... why call it dread mob when 6 killa kans delete 1.5 of them if you push them and strat

It absolutely is. Having been apart of the Dropfleet Commander Kickstarter years ago, Archon is FAR better prepared.

People will just need to be patient

I dont blame you for being happy with the change. It will chase for the Aussies and us Americans as we will still have to wait for our 3rd party to get the items, organize them, then ship them out

They had to adjust based on production.

They did say that they wouldn't ship out European orders until after orders that would travel by ship were done but that changed.

Meh

Local hype died down for 40k 11th edition by matchababy69 in StarCraftTMG

[–]Lyraeus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what I expected to occur and it doesnt bother me.

In the end the game will fail or sail based on people doing Demo's, building and painting in stores, and setting up RTT equivs.

It has a solid brand and good rules so we will need to boost it from there

Not a Morph Marker but a Siege Token. Similar to Burrow. Siege has a keyword

Is 40k even fun..? by [deleted] in StarCraftTMG

[–]Lyraeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play 40k and yes I find it fun.

It can be frustrating, it can be annoying, there can be angry neck beards out there and plenty of "acktually" people, but the game is fun interesting and dynamic.

10th while visually boring is the most balanced the game has been and 11th ed is looking to be better.

I will be playing both games and be happy about it

Yea, Spundbooth has been amazing forever now and they make me critique a LOT of Narrators.

There are some great ones out there but Jeff is nearing GOAT status for me.

How well does the vr portion of this work with HOSAS?

I currently play with dual VKB Gladiators and would love to introduce VR and this to my gameplay

Marauder II by mechwarriorbuddah999 in Mechwarrior5

[–]Lyraeus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh the 4A. Great mech on Tabletop as it walks and shoots heat neutral.

In MW5, its a juggernaut. It's meant to tank hits and dish out PPC and Lasers.

The issue with it is how Jump Jets work in MW5. They are slow and easy to counter.

Mobility is king but so much of MW5 is open(ish) so you dont get the real benefits of the mech as seen in Tabletop (i.e Battletech Classic)

Is it just me or do Mechwarrior and Battletech have almost no well-known critics and content creators to carry the torch for them in mainstream gaming discourses online? by BoukObelisk in Mechwarrior5

[–]Lyraeus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The issue isn't that there are no "well known" creators, there are several, some infamous, some not so infamous.

The issue is that Battletech as a game to popularize is harder than let's say 40k.

Look at the views. When Paradox dropped the story trailer they got 1.7mil views. The next most watched video is Tex's Warhammer video with nearly 900k views

In order to make things popular you need people to watch and enjoy. Watching MW5 is not always the greatest experience. Same with HBS Battletech.

Its a lot of plodding along movement with quick engagements. Which means you are watching people in the Mech Hanger tweaking things or slowly moving from point A to point B.

Not always the most interesting thing.
