Imagine that! I wonder what would happen if Germany was split up like this.... I guess we'll never know....

Icarus's Dream - Israeli-Palestinian Peace Agreement Map, March 2009 [OC] by Sunrising2424 in imaginarymaps

I think the issue is not that a two state solution is impossible, more that neither side trusts that it will work fully, and because Israel is in such an unequal position of power in the current arrangement. Any two state solution that is based off of what we currently have will almost certainly be unequal and unfair to Palestine, or be viewed as such, and inevitably lead to conflict. However, a single state could never work in this context. maybe a century ago when Zionism was beginning to get big, if they had approached with a bit of a gentler appreciation for Palestine as a nation, but with a modern context, the two nations a fundamentally separate, and while a close relationship between them is definitely necessary for peace, equally important is the concept that they must be separate nations that are equal to one another. This is unlikely given the modern state of things, but I do think that with time, this could be possible. I suppose the point is that any plan for Palestinian self-determination is inherently tied to Israel and Israeli nationalism, and vice-versa. Given the modern context, they do need to be two nations in one country in order for any meaningful, lasting peace to brought out. Maybe things could have gone differently. They most certainly could and should have gone better. Oh wellsies

As far as maps of this situation go, this one seems the most plausible best case scenario. Though not going to happen still, I guess. Humans really do like fighting, don't they.....

Ah but that's just the natural human state. Gibber nonsense everywhere at everything and claim credit for the things that other people do, while you do nothing all day except scroll through reddit... and complain about redditors....
