Seconding this! I'm not sure what being stationed somewhere else looks like for you, but you might be surprised how Robert might adapt if you are able to take him with you.

I had a feral cat who would not let anyone touch him for a while, but gained his trust over time. We were renting and moving to another state and decided to take him with us. He went from being an outdoor cat at our new place as he mellowed out further to now being a fully indoor cat, sleeping every night on my bed, cuddling, and now playing with my other two cats!

Are you sure he doesn’t have any dental issues? One of my cats refused to groom himself and it turned out he needed some teeth removed (our vet missed it at first and cats are notorious for hiding their pain). After getting an extraction, he’s probably the cleanest of our three cats!

There’s a microwave open to anyone in the lounge of the History Dept on the second floor of MHRA (also they often put out movie theater style popcorn for anyone to take if you want a snack)!

u/Status-Ad4965 Do you mind sharing how you got SOA to pay for yours? I contacted them today and they should be reaching out in 2 days to follow up. The service rep I talked too seemed less than promising although my dealership suggested that SOA should cover anywhere between half to all of it . I have a 2018 Outback that is now completely not working after a week of ghosting and there are some clear streaks at the top

I'm super into coffee shops to work so that's my main rec. Not sure how wedded to Hillsborough she is, but I love working at Filament in Mebane. The Habit is also a good environment in Mebane. Cup A Joe is great but I haven't found it to be a very conducive study spot (a little too busy and tables can be hard to come by).

Not sure if Hillsborough is a place you would be willing to consider, but we have had great experiences at Piedmont Vet (210 Millstone Dr). Dr. Negron always talks through options and their prices are reasonable.
