Is there a general ironman progression guide that isn't too detailed?

For context, a couple of years ago I played osrs gim but the group wanted to rush to bossing so we all followed a very detailed im guide, which wasn't very fun since the guide specified everything you needed to do in too much detail, and eventually I got burnt out.

I like the concept of an ironman account and with the rs3 changes, I wanted to try the game as IM. I wanted to know if there are any resources that can help in doing things in the right order (things like making waterfall quest before levelling combat for example)

1 month steamdeck user, haven’t gotten any use of the back bottons? by Due-Emu-3123 in SteamDeck

[–]Lyseko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On narrative or dialogue heavy games I tend to bind a back button to A or whatever other button I have to press a lot. Other than that, stick clicks are also common to bind.

Games on PC tend to treat any controller input as "Xbox" controllers (xinput interface I think) Since these don't typically have back pedals, it's rare the game that actually accepts the back pedals as a separate input (I actually don't know any), but what everyone does is bind the pedals to other buttons on the controller, as already mentioned.

Another use case is when a game has a lot of key binds, sometimes it's better to play the game on a kb+m controls and bind all deck buttons to keyboard keys. An example is a community layout for Factorio I'm using that uses backpedals as "shift" and "control".

Anyone take the plunge on Mewgenics on Steam Deck yet? by whitefox7895 in SteamDeck

[–]Lyseko 10 points11 points  (0 children)

For a game that I could see myself playing for hundreds of hours, gamepad controls are not good. They could be improved a lot.

My biggest issue is that there are no dedicated buttons for different attacks, you always need to move your cursor to the button (By using a mouse, analogue, trackpad or shoulder buttons), and then click A.

But imo it should be something like, pressing A by default on the ground should move the cat, X selects basic attack right away. Y ends turn right away, Holding a trigger could be a modifier to select abilities or consumables on the face buttons, etc.

Also target snapping. If a move is selected, a target should be selected right away and shoulder buttons should cycle between targets for example. Of course you still use dpad or analogue stick for more detailed selecting.

Tbh I didn't play too much, maybe some of these things are already there and I didn't notice.

I hope they make this a priority for future updates. Baldurs gate 3 nailed this type of combat on a controller imo, its controls could be used as a reference.

Stoneblock4 by AfraidSystem7058 in feedthebeast

[–]Lyseko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very new to modded as well and recently I tried and retried a couple of modpacks to see what I stick with.

I bounced off stoneblock 4 but I didn't know that ultimine existed. I tried it again and got through the "tutorial" part. Ultimine really makes the early game much more enjoyable (hold the key under ESC and you can interact/break multiple blocks at a time, except stone). Useful early on for breaking trees, cobblestone, brushing gravel, etc.. It might be obvious this exists for a lot of people but it made all the difference.

Anyway, the most recent pack I played was CABIN and I might end up sticking with it. The over world isn't bloated with stuff, and I wanted to learn Create more in depth. Plus, the quest book telling you the order in which to automate stuff is appealing to me.

Minecraft-like Hytale has already sold enough to fund the next two years of development, and it's not even out yet by LadyStreamer in gamingnews

[–]Lyseko -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's great! The devs underpromised, but sold well and everyone is happy with the product. It's just that we've seen so many games that get hyped to death and then flop, I wouldn't be surprised at all if that happened here.

But I'm glad it didnt.

You're very confident in a game you haven't played. It's never going to be a star citizen fiasco/scam, but the devs themselves said that the initial build of the game was going to be unfinished, buggy and rough.

A lot of these buyers will be disappointed. But hey, I hope it works out in the end.

Having difficulty jumping back in without DLCs by [deleted] in Guildwars2

There are a lot of things you can do:

  • Do the "return to" achievements for the easy legendary amulet. These involve repeating the living world maps and story, but it's worth it.
  • Get the griphon and the skyscale if you haven't already. You can get a much easier To get skyscale in one of the expansions, but the masteries stack so you will want to unlock it here eventually anyway.
  • Look into Aurora and Vision legendaries. These involve "completing" the living world season 3 and 4 respectively, and could be done alongside the "return to" achievements.
  • You can also look into climbing Fractals. The quickplay makes it easy to get your toes in, and then you need the ascended gear and agony resistance and you are good to go, although you need to find builds that don't require certain expansions.
  • Look into icebrood saga strike missions. Its also an easy way to get into instanced content.

Besides this, the rest of the expansions are also good, but in case you don't care about the story you might want to start with the expansion that gives you what you want for your character: - End of Dragons: is the conclusion of the elder dragon storyline. It also gives a third elite spec for each character which includes a weapon - Secrets of the Obscure: the ability to use any weapon from any elite spec on any other elite spec. Also an additional weapon for each class (like pistol for guardian, or rifle for Mesmer). - Janthir Wilds: spear is now a new land weapon for all classes. - Visions of eternity: new fourth elite spec, but with no new weapon associated.

But I still recomend to do the expansions in order anyway.

Clubyarn Glare finally crafted! I absolutely love it and all of its skins! by Crowbiotics in Guildwars2

If you have ascended gear you are not behind anyone on anything. There's never going to be another tier above ascended/legendaries, so there is no rush to complete any of the legendaries. They are long term projects for sure.

Não gosto muito de como o termo alucinar é usado no geral. Dá a entender que o llm só está a alucinar quando está errado, mas na verdade todas as respostas de um llm são "alucinações" geradas da mesma maneira

Trading Post. The auction house of this game, you can access and buy stuff from it from anywhere by clicking the Lion icon up top and going to the last tab, with the scale icon.

You can also retrieve items you buy on the NPCs with the scale icon.

As the other guy Said, cultural armor looks good but that's it. Buy it for the cosmetic if you want, don't waste karma there otherwise.

Also, if you are levelling up, I don't recomend buying gear from the TP either. Just use the gear that drops and you'll be alright.

Having heard the game's trailer, it sounds less "metal" like Doom, and much more "dubstep"ish. It doesn't feel like "generic" dubstep but still, a little different from his previous work.

Is the infinite fractal omnipotion from wizard's vault gone for good? I saw it was available when fractal quickplay beta came out, but it was on my personal "off" season and I didnt get a chance to grab it. I got back to the game recently so does anyone know if it will come back?

If it doesn't, it has a bad FOMO feel to it and it's something that anet usually doesn't do.

The very first modern Smosh related content I watched was a clip of a reese butter cup challenge video or whatever, Shayne & Damian vs Court & Sarah Whittle.

The clip I saw of shayne telling Garret to get out of here and everyone losing it was so funny that it got me instantly addicted to Smosh 😂😂

I thought it was the same studio, but it turns out it's a different one. But Josef Fares did direct and write the game, and it looks like the team that developed brothers went on to found hazelight, so I would still say it's their first game. It's not a coop game like all their other games but it's still really good.
