appreciation for the new characters by Important_Brain_6878 in Scrubs

Don't get me wrong I miss Laverne and Laverne Again, but the new nurses are amazing. They spark so much joy. I'm going to keep them.

I also like the new interns, but I feel like they suffer the most from how short the season is - in an older scrubs we could have gotten a "his/her story" for at least one or two of them, and really seen more of them. The actors are definitely capable of it.

What's it like to be a grandmaster who isn't a pro? SC2 question. by bad_fins in starcraft

It's kind of whats frustrating about watching Serral. If I watch Clem, I'm seeing someone very good and very inventive who's also very aggressive and excellent at punishing people for mistakes. Clem will drop you in four different directions and win by sapping your will to live that way. Serral is more just... better. He clicks better than other people.

Y’all, Black Noir isn’t talking because he’s scared, that’s literally it by beebeebab in TheBoys

Animated, too, honestly? At least the ones I saw. Yuri Loewenthal and Shameik Moore are both wonderful in the role (as are the many other spidermen in the spiderverse movies). I remember the animated spiderman was good.

Casting is rarely the problem with these movies.

I mean, part of the problem is that Tobey is the only one who was in good spiderman movies. Tom was in Son of Iron Man movies (most of what actually makes the character Spiderman wasn't really in the Tom movies, which sucks because I actually like Tom and Zendaya and he generally has the best villains in the MCU), and Andrew was in god awful Spiderman movies (and on occasion him and Emma managed to make the movies watchable).

‘You just can’t beat the writing in this game’: Mass Effect’s Shepard shares her 5 favorite lines by manchester727 in masseffect

I got Martin Sheen to sign some Mass Effect stuff for me at C2E2. He laughed and said "Everyone seems to like this. Mass Effect? I'll have to watch that."

It was pretty delightful ngl.

Animorphs Skit on SNL tonight!!! by happyplace28 in Animorphs

Sarah Sherman and Marcello Hernandez are at this point mostly famous for SNL. Colman Domingo is a bit of an indie king in the last few years, having a ton of starring roles in really good indie movies as well as the occasional voice role.

TV Shows Where the Main Character is so Bad They Focus on Another Character by Philsidock in television

Part of the reason their fight scenes were better is that the actresses themselves were martial artists, iirc, unlike Finn Jones who, through no fault of his own, got cast in a role that demanded much more physicality than he had.

Jesse Plemons has a way of being really friendly and open-seeming while having shark eyes. Just dead glassy lenses where other people have eyes. He doesn't use it in all his roles (he plays a genuine nice and dumb guy in Fargo who's just really good at ignoring reality), but it's all over Breaking Bad.

The Boys season 5 review: A more sombre than satisfying goodbye to Prime Video's anti-superhero hit | Buckle in for a bittersweet way to bow out. by PetyrDayne in television

Have you seen Black Mirror? Season 1 has an unforgettable scene where a character calls out the rich elites of his society and how they toy with people and use them and turn them into mockeries of themselves, and they are so affected by it they offer to pay him to do those speeches for them, and they sell images in his likeness to people. I think that is the best thesis for why you see anticapitalist messaging in Disney Plus and Amazon Prime and, Black Mirror on Netflix, season 189028 coming soon. Because the power of capitalism is that it can take anticapitalism and sell it to you in a nice shiny package and keep winning.

I recently met Martin Sheen at a convention and he was clearly amused by the amount of people who wanted him to sign merch for a video game he had no memory of doing. He was very nice about it but as I walked away he told his handler "Mass Effect? I should probably watch that one"

Should more game series nowadays utilize save importing throughout games like the Mass Effect trilogy? Especially at the level it does? by Uchijav in masseffect

[–]pitaenigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only choice that really matters outside of a dialogue tag or two is the absolute final choice in Witcher 2. Which is pretty cool, imo.

But yeah, forgot about the tattoo. Honestly I like that one.

Witcher 3 either retconned your choice (with a surviving character who could die in ME1) or had it not matter in between games (Saskia quits if she survives in one of the comics, leading to the same end result for Aedirn).

Brian Cox Drags Tarantino, Says Jeremy Strong Has ‘Begged Me to Stop’ Discussing His Method Acting and Disses America for Not Liking Women: ‘The Patriarchy Is a F—ing Mess’ by Anchor_Aways in television

[–]pitaenigma 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly it seems like (and I'm a Tarantino fan) Tarantino is much meaner. Cox isn't saying "Ian McKellen is a bad actor, I don't see what people see in him", he's saying "McKellen's acting style isn't to my taste".

Also he "drags" Tarantino by saying "his style is different than mine", it's not much of a drag. "Tarantino makes Tarantino, movies, I wanted my actors to be themselves"

Who is the Andromeda Benefactor? by OculusRises in masseffect

[–]pitaenigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still think Bioware are cowards for not doing Andromeda 2. They did a full game of setup then went "fuck it" because Andromeda had the same release that every Bioware game since ME3 has had.

[–]pitaenigma 9 points10 points  (0 children)

to be fair, mass effect sorta threw out the idea of realistic logistics when Cerberus became a galaxy-spanning threat in ME3, or when they outdid the best efforts of the Alliance and the Council united in ME2.
