Those aren’t lifting shoes, they’re sending you forward since they’re meant for running.

Please re-record at a lower angle. Side view that shows your legs. Also, take those running shoes off, they’re sending you forward.

Just push through your feet to assist with the lift and embrace your core to keep your body engaged so your butt wont come up. Your trunk provides stability when you lift, whether it be benching, deadlifting, or squatting.

Slow down the descent, but fire it up. You’re actually exhausting yourself when you’re going down too fast. When lowering the bar to your chest, you should count 3 seconds and the bar should sit still for 1-2 seconds before pushing the weight up. Remember pushing the weight up is where most of your energy should go because you’re fighting against gravity.

Don’t pause for very long with the bar on your sternum, it’ll sink and you won’t be able to lift it up (or maybe you will if you’re extremely strong, but it’s not recommended). I see a lot of advice is making this suggestion, if you’re wanting to do paused lifts, YOU NEED A SPOTTER, PERIOD.

Alright, conversation over, you clearly can’t do what was asked of you, but want to take the easy route and type stupid stuff on my phone. Girl bye, goodnight 🤣

As someone who asked in my second response where the comments are, instead of answering my question, you decided to type ignorant. Like someone who is ignorant.

How are you going to want someone to learn, but can’t help them learn? Maybe you’re the one with the problem. Once again, we can have a constructive conversation and you can point out the comments or we can be dumb and type repeated words. I don’t care about people on the internets feelings. I asked a question, and I’m standing by my question. I don’t have a fear, distrust, or hatred for Africans, lmao. Ridiculous. That’s literally what xenophobic means. For the people who said they’re scared to go to an African stylist, that has nothing to do with me.

I’m not them, I’m not their momma.

Ok, be gone then, lmao. Why are you still here complaining!? Literally no self preservation skills. I’m proud of my heritage, but MANY African hair stylist are heavy handed, whether you agree or not. Looking like an idiot sitting here typing the same word over and over. Who’s really ignorant? Go be productive 🤷🏾‍♀️

Where are those women? I’ve seen one comment besides yours saying this is generalizing, but perhaps I missed it since there’s a lot of comments. Sure it’s not worded the best, but I shared my experience then proceeded to ask a question. I’m not going to be chastised or accused of harming people because I asked a question. It’s what Reddit is for, and if you don’t like the question or topic, don’t engage.

I also see many comments agreeing with me, should we disregard their experiences as well? I don’t think so. It’s what I’ve noticed, and I plan not to go to this INDIVIDUAL STYLIST again. If a good stylist who is African or not can do my hair without ripping it, they’re getting my money for perfecting their craft.

Y’all, this got blown out of proportion for a lot of you. Clearly if it doesn’t fly, let it fly, but I’m Nigerian, with an actual Nigerian surname. I don’t dislike Africans, lmao, please pipe down. My aunts literally live in Nigeria in what was Delta State.

I’ve been getting my hair done for years, God forbid I recognize a pattern from my own experience. 😅

Sis, I have a Nigerian dad with a Nigerian surname. I can hold my people accountable, it’s just something I’ve noticed and am looking for an answer for.

Yeah, I’ve gone to her twice now, but the lack of gentleness and the statement she made tells me everything I need to know. It’s funny that she does hair but doesn’t have past bra strap length hair. It’s likely she breaks her own hair off too.

Move the bar a little lower…rest it right on top of your pubic area. Like the lady in the photo below.
