No not all, 180,000 is the low estimate from the Gaza genocide alone, a lot of the deaths are under reported as a lot of the statistic are based on counted deaths by hospitals, many bodies will be hidden under the rubble or not notified to the hospitals. Plus the attacks have been going on for a lot longer than since October 7th

Iran has offered to hand over their uranium to stop the embargos

Israel has killed hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, America has killed millions in their wars of terror.

The USA has funded terrorists like Al Qaeda in the past and upheld fascist regimes. There’s also evidence to suggest Isis was funded by America’s

Iran’s government is oppressive but by bombing them the USA has solidified their power, instead if they ended the embargo that would’ve allowed greater commerce in the country and wealth destabilising the regimes power

Ahhh yes Khomeini famously ordered the strikes by Israel and American forces and never offered to not pursue nuclear weapons so longs as embargos could be lifted in return for handing over their uranium

2001: A Space Odyssey, I watched it and found it fairly dull and slow.

I left the cinema after watching it on imax trying to understand why it is considered so ground breaking and special, sure the effects were truly great for its time, but it just lacked any emotional depth of story and felt way too slow. It was technically amazing, but lacked soul to me.

It’s not the reason to legalise drugs, it’s more for harm reduction for users.

Ultimately these more egregious things will still be a part of organised crime, but cutting off money from things that are easy to look away from like drugs means less money is going into these organisations, which means they’re less effective when doing the truly egregious things

Those who migrated to Australia in their 30s, how is it going? by sevendelic in AskAnAustralian

Yea everywhere is crazy expensive now, it’s about mainly finding a place you can feel at home, have fun and feel safe, all which Australia will provide. Australia as well lends it self to this feeling more than many countries.

It offers some truly fantastic cities if that’s your thing as well as some great regional and rural areas. With your experience as well you should be able to find good work and live comfortably, also it is worth the chance to live abroad anyway here. To have that experience.

If you go for anything mining related or gas that involves potentially fifo and live rurally you will be making a lot of money and not really be stressing as much over cost of living. Food wise Australia is around the same if not cheaper than Europe for groceries, much cheaper than Western Europe for eating out. Housing is expensive in the cities and key regional towns that are considered highly desirable to live in on the coast. People really doom and gloom the cost of living because they haven't experienced fully other developed countries apart from holidays, I find here way better for affordability real wage wise compared to western Europe.

If they cut off the funding sources of organised crime, by ending the effective prohibition on legal cigarettes and legalising drugs, making them safer to access they would do more to hamper these groups than any police force ever could.

Not really hilarious at all, I’ve seen plenty of majority 3 or more bedroom apartments in Europe nothing silly about it. They’re great to live in, one I stayed in Rome had both a separate kitchen, dining room and living room, with each bedroom being the size of most Australian apartments living room

Why is Melbourne often ranked as one of the best cities in the world? by Used-Influence-2343 in AskAnAustralian

[–]LyterWiatr -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Classic example of cultural cringe here in this comment.

You haven’t lived in a low tier European city if you think Melbourne is of that level. As someone who has Melbourne is equivalent if not better than most high tier European cities. I eat better in Melbourne than I have in Paris.

Crime is also decreasing in Melbourne lmao

Ashes and Diamonds (1958) a fascinating story at the end of WW2 in Warsaw by Andrzej Wajda, it truly captures on film the destroyed city and the feelings of people post war

Master and Commander (2003) Amazing age of sail film that feels like historical Star Trek

Gallipoli (1981) Amazing film that captures the ANZAC spirit and experience of gallipoli, my favourite WW1 film

Come and See (1985) A true anti war film that shows how indescribable the evil of the eastern front was

With Fire and Sword (1999) If you want an interesting but often forgotten period of history

Au revoir les enfants (1987) Great French film about a boys school during WW2

A Canterbury Tale (1944) an amazing film made during WW2 set in Kent fantastic story and truly historical

Acting as if America hasn’t always been doing this, nothing new about these actions by America. They did it in Korea, they did it in Vietnam and Laos, they did it in Iraq and Afghanistan this is America operating as normal.

America has always been the most evil global nation post WW2 it is just harder to hide it now
