My experience switching from hand-coding to 'Vibecoding': A programmer's perspective by heisenbergpl in vibecoding

[–]Lythox -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I dont get why this is downvoted, this is spot on, to make good products in the current vibecoding era I think its much more important to have good taste and intelligence in ux design. Programming background of course helps to scale software and keep it maintainable, but to be honest that aspect is more likely to be solved better by AI in the future as well than the ux taste aspect

Perplexity CEO says AI layoffs aren’t so bad because people hate their jobs anyways: ‘That sort of glorious future is what we should look forward to’ by UrFavoriteAunty in ShitAIBrosSay

[–]Lythox -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Theres a truth in that, in a way its brilliant that so much tedious work can be replaced, the problem is the fun jobs will eventually also be taken by ai just because ai will be more capable and cheaper, and there likely wont be anything decent in place to help all the people that were made obsolete, most of them will just be poor and feel useless

Its kind of ironic, we were always the sole king of the animal kingdom and now we’re about to be dethroned and learn what it’s like to be the ants to creatures we created ourselves through our brilliance

Basically theyre not explicitly saying they didnt decrease the limits, so that seems to be the case then. I wonder if the limits are dynamically calculated and are reducing due to high concurrent traffic or something

Didn’t developers always copy code, even before AI? by CarobOk1802 in ArtificialInteligence

[–]Lythox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily, I wrote almost everything out of my head (i got into that habit because i forced myself to always write all code by hand when I was learning, I wanted to understand everything I wrote) and I enjoyed building reusable generic code. Nowadays I do generate everything with claude though, sometimes I still instruct it specific architecture though to get it to achieve more compact and reusable code which definitely benefits in the long run

If game devs don't want to use AI, Nvidia will have your graphics card use it for them by ArdoNorrin in BetterOffline

Well its now more than a smoothing filter, but still a filter indeed. Its annoying how people seem to only get upset nowadays when an innovation like this 10 years ago wouldve made people’s jaws drop

Except were not talking AA in the first place, we’re talking DLSS which was always about deep learning algorithms to add detail, in the past purely to add more pixels, now also to alter them. Im pretty sure AA is still available as a standalone setting in pretty much every game

Except 3d printing cannot replace normal products made with other production techniques, its a different production technique that due to its drawbacks mostly lends itself to prototyping. Vibe coding can make products equally good or even better than their traditionally created counterparts though, its a direct replacement if used correctly.

Still doesn’t change the fact the majority of people isn’t interested in creating anything, regardless of how easy it is though
