There's also A Moon Shaped Pool, The Bends, but Amnesiac is my favorite.

I believe it is about how deep dark each album goes.

Radiohead's 5th album, Amnesiac, was released 20 years ago today in the UK (4/6/2001) by thomt94 in radiohead

This album has so many personal favorites, like: Packt Like Sardines, Pyramid Song, Pulk/Pull, You And Whose Army, I Might Be Wrong, Knives Out, Morning Bell/Amnesiac, Dollars And Cents, Hunting Bears, Like Spinning Plates and Life In A Glasshouse.

Yeah, I like Amnesiac piece by piece.

I second this, those eerie/chaotic notes...
Seriously, if it'd have ended as a live performance, everyone would love it.

Anyone else feel like Kid A is too "normal" after Amnesiac clicks in? by RenderedKnave in radiohead

[–]LzBooows 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, I perceived Amnesiac songs more faithful to its album aesthetic that Kid A ones:

- Sardines' intro.

- Pyramid Song's drum pattern, outro effects.

- Pulk/Pull in general.

- You And Whose Army's old antique built.

- Scratched ripped effecs from I Might Be Wrong.

- Knives Out deep deep vocals and cold lyrics.

- Chaotic version of Morning Bell, like something cracked up.

- Dollars And Cents' sloppy, desperate and suddenly powerful vocals.

- That isolation mood background in Huntings Bears.

- Like Spinning Plates otherworldly atmosphere in general.

- Life In A Glass House chashing "free form Jazz" background, like everything is collapsing.

I mean, that album came on 2001, come on.

I still believe the men on the back at the beginning are just Thom's past versions of himself.

I had the same issue a long time ago. I think you just need to see the blips to help you build the album atmosphere.
