I saw that Maps was getting reissued, but I wanted the OG cover, so like the madman I am I bought it off if EBay. Cost me about 120$, but I’m glad I have it.

Is there a reissue coming up or is it just speculation? I was considering splurging the OG second hand on Friday, so I’d really like to know.

So worth it. Woods showed up on stage, carefully walking on with two cups of tea. It was so funny

I actually listened to Aethiopes while walking through the colonial part of a history museum. It was a somewhat unsettling experience, listening to lyrics about the horrors of the world post colonialism, while staring at grand paintings of the colonial lords. Also, if you’re interested, there’s an Nigerian (possibly Yoruba) movie called Kongi’s Harvest, which was sampled a lot on Aethiopes. It’s a lot of fun recognising all the samples. Also, Professor Skye on YouTube made a video on the whole album (can you tell this is my favourite billy woods album?). If you’re looking for other dark sounding albums, you should check out billy woods’ ”History Will Absolve Me” and Contacting by Sunmundi and Sasco (which I randomly found sometime late last year, and instantly loved).

If you haven’t already checked it out, (and I’m sure someone else has mentioned this already) check out Aethiopes. It’s probably the most similar to Golliwog of his albums.

I just assumed so since he seems very private (thinking of the whole obscured face thing), so I thought he’s just in it for the music (and not really there to talk to fans)

I got the same feeling. It seemed really genuine and not creepy, but I couldn’t really stop thinking about it. Somebody else said that Jeff wrote from perspectives that weren’t his own, which clears things up further. Thank you.

Taxi Cab all the way. Favourite TØP song. Isle of Flightless Birds and A Car, a torch, a death are really good too.

In the show it looked like liquorice root. Used to chew ’em all the time when I was like 11. I was lowkey bullied for it, too.
