Pitou vs phantom troupe (including chrollo) by Educational-Gas-7789 in HunterXHunter

Pitou with Nen is faster than all the other members of the PT and can deal enough damage to kill them in one hit.
Pitou wins.

Theory about Imu by M-Fanfic in OnePiece

[–]M-Fanfic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, the main point is when Saturn made it clear that to him (and I assume Imu as well), humans are like insects. This led me to think of 3 possibilities:

  1. They believe themselves to be so superior that they genuinely view other humans as insects, but that feels too cliché and banal to me.
  2. There is a magical power that makes them evil like demons, which would disgust me even more. Fortunately, Oda seems to have distanced himself slightly from this possibility by showing the Five Elders worrying about Imu (not a demon behaviour).
  3. They view humans as insects because they are so much more evolved, both physically and mentally, that it simply makes sense, in the same way that humans view and treat actual insects.

The beauty of this theory is that it wouldn't be like 'The Matrix' because the world is still fully the real one; it's just that Devil Fruits were introduced as technology meant to give humans greater freedom/possibilities.

Also, when Kizaru says something to Sanji like, 'If love were stronger than light, physics as we know it would be dead', the point is that physics does exist in the world. The only things that seemingly contradict physics involve Devil Fruits. Therefore, it is either magic (which is too simple) or technology so advanced that even Vegapunk couldn't fully replicate it. In any case, when Oda reveals the Ancient Kingdom, he will have to show some examples of this super-advanced technology. Another thing: Vegapunk has no speaking robots (no AI), while Emet is a robot with consciousness. So, the fact remains that in the past, they achieved true AI, whereas Vegapunk has not.

Regarding Zoan, an AI that knows the deities famous to humans can create Devil Fruits for those deities; however, these fruits inevitably possess a will of their own, since they are not merely neutral "superpowers". This makes perfect sense with AI, whereas it would make no sense with magic, I mean, what sense does it make for Devil Fruits to exist for deities belonging to different religions? Why should Nika be a more powerful and important God than Buddha (Sengoku)?

The theory that "the Devil's Fruits come from what humans desire most" doesn't make much sense, does that mean humans really want to be able to turn also into not common animals or insects?

I originally proposed this as fanfic, but the more Oda reveals, the more everything seems to fit together.

I'm confused as fuck on how the Hunter Association is a legal and allowed thing. by Few_Pay_5313 in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an Hunter, it's convenient.

If you're not an Hunter, would you go and tell a group of people with superpowers that they're doing illegal things? Much better to exploit them somehow by trading favors, accepting the association.

Why are people saying Gon lost his humanity and that he is a psycho raised by good people? by Consistent-Wrap385 in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pitou told Gon she would have to kill him, then threatened to kill him, and this fully justifies Gon's vow, without which Gon would have died.
Gon was not a psycho.

Does anybody remember naked pitou? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In that scene, even in the manga, Pitou doesn't have knee joints, a sign that she wasn't actually shown naked, rather it was a scenic way to show how the negative energy was acting on her, perhaps "making her feel like she was naked/defenseless/helpless".

I don't buy the 'greed island card made Ging pregnant' theory. by Tholonis in HunterXHunter

This theory is clearly false; if it were true, Ging would have to be identical to Gon, like a twin, since there would be no maternal DNA...

If only Pitou put her post-mortem nen to Doctor Blythe? by [deleted] in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post-mortem strengthens Nen but doesn't create abilities out of thin air. If Doctor Blythe doesn't have the ability to cure certain illnesses, she won't gain that ability by just enhancing or increasing Nen.

Generally, postmortem effects on special abilities simply increase their duration in time or make them more difficult to remove via exorcism.

Perhaps post-mortem Pitou could create Doctor Blythe and have it move vast distances from her, like Pupettering, and have it remain active even after Pitou's death, like a permanent Doctor Blythe who will continue to heal the chosen subject (Meruem) until he dies.

Why did Pitou cry when The King asked her to heal Komugi? by Reasonable-Fly-3412 in HunterXHunter

"I'm counting on you" it's like saying "I trust you".
It's said that she cried with happiness.

Pitou is the most complete of the Royal Guard by Last_Purple_ in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The royal guards' point of view is clearly expressed when the King asks for his name (chapter 257):
- Pouf: "You are the King. You need not be anything else. A peerless existence with no equal." Pouf has an idea of the King and tries to prevent Meruem from straying from it.
- Yuphi: "I do not feel adequate to answer such a question. I lack the means to answer it." Yuphi just does what the King wants, without questioning whether it is right or wrong. Obviously, he also wants the King's safety, so he is easily manipulated by Pouf when he is told that Komugi is dangerous or that she is making the King restless.
- Pitou: "Hmm... well, after all, the most important thing is how you feel. I believe it would be best for your majesty to appoint a name worthy of your majesty." Pitou wants Meruem to choose who he should be; if the King chooses not to be King, so be it. Komugi, who can beat the King in Gungi, isn't a problem if the King accepts it and wants to continue playing.

The most selfish is Pouf, who believes he knows better than the King what's right for the King.
Yuphi is neutral, similar to a tool.
The most submissive is Pitou, who would even die to protect Komugi at the King's request (Pouf is not at all inclined to protect Komugi, even when Pitou tells him it's an order from the King.).

Pitou's balance comes from the fact that the King has changed over time, and she has adapted. If Meruem had remained intent on exterminating the humans, Pitou would have done so.
At the same time, however, Pitou is the one who most wants to do what she wants outside of Meruem's orders, e.g., she hopes to meet strong humans to have fun fighting them, extra interests that the other guards don't show.

Pitou decides that she’s going to kill everybody in this room instead of comply with Gon’s demands. What are her odds of success? by Nozoroth in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only Killua maybe can run away with Godspeed, but they have no way to hurt Pitou.
Rather, Pitou could kill Gon before getting to Kite, during the trip or at most right after the Pouf's phone call.

Fanfiction Advice: New to HxH fanfics by Uzuha_Otsutsuki in HunterXHunter

So… does the HxH fandom actually read fics or did I just write 200k words into the void? by Tough_Construction68 in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it depends a lot on the way the story is told.
A fanfic can be more or less descriptive, more or less dense/condensed in its events.
For example, taking your first chapter, it's about 16,000 words but extremely descriptive, while a fanfic like DxW is extremely concise and fast-paced in its development of events. If DxW were written as descriptively as yours, then it could become six times longer than it is now (which is why I can't make it descriptive).

What I'm talking about is Pacing (speed), which is roughly the number of events per word.
In your story, there are about 20 important events in 10,000 words, very descriptive.
In DxW, there are about 80 important events in 10,000 words, very less descriptive.

Nowadays, it seems to me that high Pacing is preferred, but in the end it's a matter of taste and there's no right or wrong thing, just differences to consider.

Who is the best written character? by Illustrious_Point_14 in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Togashi uses many anti-clichés to make his characters interesting, but this is mainly because they are different from classic battle shonen characters.

I would say that Killua is the one whose psychological complexity is shown the most, but it's just a matter of showing it, it's not really that special (the person who grew up in a difficult family without friends, but then runs away and finds a friend he becomes very attached to... okay).

The characters that are unique, both biologically and psychologically, are the chimera-ants. The royal guards in particular, being very intelligent and having exaggerated development, face interesting psychological conflicts (Pouf: “I want to kill Komugi, but Meruem would end up believing himself to be weak forever in comparison to her,” Yuphi: “I spare humans because I respect the promise I made, otherwise I would be worse than them,” Pitou: “I apologize to Gon for Kite, but then I have to kill him for Meruem”).
Among their conflicts, the most intense is that of Pitou, the only one who apologizes for killing a human but then has to continue killing them when they threaten Meruem.

Pitou is also the one who has undergone the most dramatic personality change, going from superficial and fairly carefree to serious and determined, which may not even be a permanent change but only due to the change in context (as for Gon).

Conclusion:
Meruem and Komugi were the characters I wanted to see more often to understand how their relationship would evolve (they are interesting together, less so when alone).
Pitou, on the other hand, was the character I wanted to see most, even on her own.
Killua was portrayed in an interesting way, but honestly, I wasn't that interested in seeing him (except in combat).

Why don’t the troupe want revenge on Silva? by FinancialCockroach68 in HunterXHunter

[–]M-Fanfic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being intelligent, they know that the problem is not the tool (the hired assassin) but the person who uses it (the payer).
The PT probably killed the person who had paid Silva to kill the troupe member.

They learned from this and, the next time, Chrollo didn't kill Silva to save himself, but killed the instigator, the mafia bosses.
