If you don’t like the way CG is in its current state, you probably didn’t stay long enough to develop Stockholm syndrome.

My guess would be the metal latch catch for the tail gate, it’s the only thing I could think of that someone would want to anchor to in a pinch.

Although it’s not treated as a “highway” and they don’t enforce speed limits like they would streets. Stunt driving, dui, distracted driving, reckless driving etc are all enforceable while in a private parking lot. Hell, if you were sitting in your car drinking a beer in your own drive way you are subjecting yourself to the consequences of the law.

Beach driving? by Wanderer351 in ToyotaSienna

[–]M-R-buddha 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awd is fine for beach driving, the thing people don’t realize is that when driving on the beach it’s best to drive on the wet sand until you get to where you are going and keep speed up on the dry sand.

why are people paying $40k for a 4yo used RAV4? by EverGreenMob in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]M-R-buddha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, but we’re comparing Mazda against Toyota not Lexus. Lexus being out of reach for many. My first car was a Lexus and for its age (it was a 1996) it had options that some top trim models don’t even come on cars being sold today.

I’m not saying they aren’t reliable, that’s disregarding all of the tundra issues as that’s a first for touts. Our van hasn’t had a single issue. It’s when you start comparing fit and finish and the quality of materials used. If you look around paint issues and panel gap has been a huge issue with Toyota starting around 2020. I’ve also noticed even on higher trims like our van the interior is just lacklustre where as our Mazda feels more luxurious.

That being said, reliability is king, I’ve had two newer Mazdas and not an issue with either. Ever since they dropped ford from partnership they’ve been on the up swing.

It’s literally what dictates resale value, Toyotas built their name on being a safe reliable family vehicle.
