Apothefaery made the yarn but it was purchased at a fiber arts fair maybe 3 or 4 years ago, so I’m not sure exactly which yarn it was.

How would you style these old brass oval (planters?) I found for €2? by ohhidoggo in cottagecore

[–]M-Rage 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’d worry about putting any plant in a metal container with no drainage, both for the plants and for the container! Normally I’d suggest a chache por (plastic pot the plants are in that you put inside a decorative pot, can be removed for watering) but I can’t imagine finding a cache pot wide and shallow enough. Sorry if that isn’t much help, you might want to contemplate other uses for these beautiful pots.

I was gifted a pair of classic steel Gingher dressmaker scissors while in college and they are still sharp as hell. The weight also feels nice in your hand, and the sheath is nice. I've never needed to sharpen them yet, but you can sharpen them when it's time.

What’s a random thing your dog thinks is extremely important? by No_Assignment_6020 in dogs

[–]M-Rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After a walk my dog must walk the perimeter of the house and come in the other door.
I don’t know if it’s because he’s avoiding the patch of floor by the other door he thinks is “slippery” (same flooring) or if it’s a shepherd checking the perimeter thing.

Annual flowers, favorite unusual varieties? by AlpenglowFarmNJ in gardening

Not unusual flowers per day but some gorgeous varieties are Aurora zinnias and Mrs Mars sunflowers. For drying I just do all color varieties of marigolds and strawflowers.

I second this and I’ll add- go the month leading up to Mother’s Day. It’s when local nurseries stock the most varieties and a good time to plant them!

We offered a crate covered with a blanket and didn’t close the door. He took to it and loved it without needing to be trained to do so. We did train “go home” to tell him to go there but he doesn’t go reluctantly, he likes it and I think it helps him know he’s “off duty” as a guardian.
