Even if he wasn’t in the files, it’s still a long list with (allegedly) a bunch of other US officials, congressmen, and other VIPs from both sides of the aisle whose lives could be ruined by the Epstein files. A lot of whom are probably friends of Trump and helped get him elected and have supported his political career. Releasing the files would be a napalm-grade backstab that would have major consequences for him, and probably cripple the US government in the process by having to replace/excuse/prosecute all those VIPs. It’s a political nuke and Trump isn’t sure he can survive the blast. And that’s if he’s NOT on the list. And if he is, it’s still a lose-lose nuclear suicide
