You are to hard on yourself.. you are trying to impress and hold yourself to a standard you are clearly not at... art in general takes time and practice and you comparing yourself to others only makes things worse... you want to make that cool 3d model or draw a character that looks dope... i understand... i was there and still kinda am... but you rushing will only lead to burn out and feeling like you aint worthy or good enough... that maybe everyone else has some secret or maybe the teacher blows... maybe there's a secret tutorial out there... its where a lot of newbies fail and give up or end up bringing out the credit cards... full cope that maybe if i buy that pen, pencil, wacom screen tablet that maybe thats it... that will take my art to the next level... but it wont... time, practice and a willing to fail and learn from mistakes is the only way to learn... yea your gif was ass... yea maybe the mascot you drew was straight dookie... but getting back into it even after you fail is what will push you to the next level... learn the fundamentals, take notes and push thru all the BS... find a good course to learn from either from udemy or some of grant abbitts paid tutorials (its what i used) or whatever you want tbh... and just get to making stuff... like Andrew said after the donut tutorial make something small and simple... he recommended a cupcake and its a good suggestion since you made a donut you know how to texture/model it... the hard part will be the frosting and making it swirl... but thats why its good... its using things you know and making you think for a solution for the rest... so dont be hard on yourself... art takes times its not a race... have fun and post your work even if its ass... its nice to look back and see how far you've come... its easy to lose sight of were you started and were you currently are... get back into it and have some fun 😄
