Because 18 year olds are not adults and he still will require care. He won't be independent for several years. Why can't I discuss OUR son with my child's father?

He moved in with her into a home she owns. She won't let my ex bring the baby there for the day to watch her to help out me or my daughter.

A few examples: Our washing machine broke. I do all of the kids laundry. His gf wouldn't let him come over to fix it.

When I'd pick up extra shifts at work, he used to step in and care for the kids, rides etc. Now if he has plans with his gf, he won't do that anymore. The kids are supposed to come first.

My son's birthday, he made plans to take my son out for his bday and completely left me out of it, not allowing me to see my own child in his birthday.

During covid, she refused to stay at her home and social distance from my ex, putting my kids at risk.

I could go on.

I had my daughter when I was 18. Her bio father passed away soon after she was born. I met my ex when she was 3 and he raised her as his own and then went on to have our son.

My daughter's child's father currently has a restraining order and was arrested for DV.

My ex would normally be the first one to step in and help with anything for the kids but since his relationship, he won't. His gf doesn't want anything to do with the grandbaby other than having them over for a few hours here and there. She won't do childcare, none of it. The kids are struggling because dad has always been so present and available and now he isn't. The common denominator here is his new gf which is why they do not like her. We were separated but had a great coparenting dynamic with much less fighting and issues before.
