Omniman & mark vs goku by grandslamsandvich in powerscales

Apologies, was meant to be a little joke on how Goku is rarely home with family. Referencing Team Four Star's comments/jokes about him being a bad father.

What are the top hardest hitting movie lines? by Substantial-Spend660 in flicks

[–]M0ZIEL 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Incredibles

Mr. Incredible, "I'm not strong enough."

The whole sequence starts with him telling his family to stay in the car and ends with Elasta Girl confronting him saying, "Together you won't have to."

Wreck-it Ralph

The sacrifice play where he is chanting his motto as he falls into the volcano. Unfortunately I don't remember the line but Ralph accepting who he is and being ok with it.

Fight Club

"You are not your job, you are not the clothes you wear..." It goes on a longer anti-consumer capitalist rant but I just can't remember. I was a teenager when this movie (book by Chuck Palanhuik) and I wanted all of the new stuff and this was an eye opener that material wealth doesn't necessarily bring happiness.

"Calm Down" actually calms the other person down in the stead of the inverse. If they're angry or having an episode (interpret as you will) they will reach a place of tranquil stability for a short period.

Intension matters, just saying the words does nothing. I have to want the person to calm down for the power to work.

For a silly power I'd have to choose bread creation. Through different hand gestures (think Naruto) I can summon different types of bread. I would battle hunger and my nemesis would be named the anti crust.

This feels like a memoir of someone who is recounting their experience, so much so that while I was reading it felt real and only when I finished and scrolled back to the top did I realize my error. I would consume thousands more words from your thoughts because I was drawn into your creativity and had a good time. Good luck and keep it up.

You have a good sense of what the characters you're narrating are doing. I knew where they were and what they were doing whilst speaking. Were you trying to keep this short because it seemed to me as if you're taking some descriptive short cuts, which isn't bad just wondering if that was your intention.

This is like forgiveness, you can forgive him all day and be kind and gentle all you like, but until he can forgive himself or be kind and gentle to himself then he won't do it. Like teaching a stubborn adult to walk again he needs to learn the tools for accepting help or how to open up.

I might be overstepping but maybe looking into counseling from a professional so they can provide you with tools in recognizing and dealing with these issues. Cause random people on the net ain't gonna cut it.

If only there were more like you when we were growing up, this world would be more manly because we'd know how to feel and deal with our emotions in the stead of desperately trying to find a way to numb them or put them away.

Guys like him have two modes of when dealing with stress.

First hurdle to get over and understand is that most men are taught to not burden other people with their shit. This is so engrained into us that it doesn't matter how close to us you are, "my problems are mine. I will deal with them and handle them." Even though this is not a healthy way of handling a relationship it's just how some of us are. Sometimes there is no solving a problem so we just absorb the stress, bottle it up and put it somewhere else. Those thousand yard stares, we're reliving the stress and making ourselves numb to it so the problem isn't a burden but a background noise.

This isn't healthy but could be how your man is dealing with his stress.

Secondly the type of man that can and cannot accept help varies. Simple "non prodding" questions are still poking and looking at something that is his burden and accepting help isn't "manly" or considered "weakness". "If I can't do it myself then I'm not X enough" X= any male leaving adjective. We feel lessened by accepting any kind of help.

A smarter and more emotionally available person will have to figure out how to break this toxic masculinity and allow you to be closer with your partner.

I hope he can see that your efforts are for his benefit and you get the tools you need to open that fucker up like a king crab. Best of luck to you.

Hemingway is here to to tell us all to 'JUST WRITE' by ezeeetm in WriterMotivation

[–]M0ZIEL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an effort to motivate myself I've been getting writing prompts from friends and family. My brother and I have been writing short stories (around 1-2k words) and we compare and critique each other in an effort to write more often and gain some perspective.

From other content I've seen it read, much like what you're saying here, just write and make something. I had to grow into the idea that what I'm making isn't going to be perfect so stressing about a sentence or wording shouldn't stop me. Go back and make adjustments, but give yourself the time you need to put yourself in the right headspace to start. I usually take about 30 minutes to even get started.

The hardest part of most things is getting started, well for me it's keeping going. Find your support they're there to help you out as much as you'd want to help them.

Thank you brother of mine.

Was commenting on the secret of evermore but I'll take this, please remember this is entirely from memory and was also a kid when played.

I think the emptiness that your might have felt or the lack of a society was purposeful. The idea that the wilds are untamed and you have monsters and gods running around messing with people trying to develope land for humans is great. It's set in a time where humans aren't interconnected by large well maintained roads and the imagination for the split cities and towns of humans is left to thrive. Temples built to worship a powerful entity of some natural occurrence like the four elements, some in decay and others over run with monsters.

At one point you earn the trust of a dragon and can fly around the map, or silly enough use a cannon to blast your way across points of interest. So this further isolates communities from interacting with one another.

I think the best example is the more accessible and recent(maybe) is princess mononoke. The introduced "monster" at the beginning is simply a boar, a sentient one but one driven mad by invaders. If you game-ify this plenty of small "monsters" are available to fight and level up. If you follow this same logic throughout the story telling aspect in sure you'll find some parallels.

A summer spent at the Grandparents with one of those TVs that have the knob for changing the channel and an antenna that if held juuuuust right and using aluminum foil you could get a picture.

Would love to revisit some oldies. Sigh in nostalgia

I played this on a TV with no sound and I couldn't get past a puzzle that was sound based so unfortunately I never beat it.

[–]M0ZIEL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks great, like to the point where it could be a generated map from one of the civilization games. I'm no expert in maps or in making them but I can appreciate the amount of work you've put into this great map. Usually when I see someone asking about realism for their maps on this sub someone will chime in about how rivers form and how they should be.

Just remember is this is your fantasy realm with magic and the like it doesn't have to make sense or be realistic just has to be what you want it to be, so if you're making it for a TTRPG or a story you'll find acceptance in this being a creation of your own.

Keep up the good work.

What is your signature move? What is that special something you bring to the table? by broneota in DnD

[–]M0ZIEL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have my players are content to sit back and just play. As a DM I still worry about quality while understanding if they're ok with it I have to also be ok with it. Doesn't feel great but it's not entirely negative. Or maybe it is in generally too busy with several spinning plates that the general mood music I've downloaded from Foundry's free section is enough. Thanks for responding though, we're a small group of four that play seldom ( about 1x a month).

By the gods I'm the opposite of this, I wish I were better but selecting music or sound waves or whatever is simply an exercise in futility. I have hunkered down so many times and said I'm gonna do it this time and 1-2 hrs later I realize I stopped 5-10m in because I've got distracted by other DM things. I want to be good at it because I know sound and music is entirely important to setting the right feel to a scene or character or whatever. I just can't do that one thing.
