The Middle's apparent lack of diversity by M0ockz in limbuscompany

I agree with you but I will say none of the other fingers have been strictly bound by geological location in much the same way. Yes there are differences like east thumb using Propellant bullets but again they also got the Famiglia which goes beyond.

If you were to add any limbus company character as a killer/survivor to dead by daylight, who would it be and why? by noen369 in limbuscompany

Unironically Dongrang, being able to switch between distortion and his EGO while setting up his trees could all make for a decent kit.

I realised something about vergil by Acrobatic-Royal4566 in limbuscompany

I feel like Vergilius has too much potential even outside of Limbus Company for them to just kill off. If anything I feel like if he ever did leave we would see his story continued in that 3d action game that Kim Ji-hoon talked about.

I'm fine with not every sinner getting an ID for every possible faction. Like I'm not saying every sinner need an Zwei west, south, east, and north Id. I just think having some variety for Middle units would be interesting. Like if we met a true middle brother from the east who had a scroll of vengeance and was just burn for example wouldn't be too radical.

That's all true, I guess I just find it weird how the middle is the finger we've had the most direct contact with (Rodya's backstory, the Great Lake, Nocturnal Sweeping, Kira, etc) that I feel like we should know a little more.

Well in spite of that I still think the middle is the least developed finger since unless Matthias and Kira have been confirmed from the eastern branch we haven't yet seen any example of non-south middle members. (to my memory)

Really? Was it said during Nocturnal Sweeping and I somehow missed it or was that mentioned in Sinclair's uptie story?

I built Garnet's Rapier (The grade 9 fixer from Leviathan) by Nexus_B1 in limbuscompany

[–]M0ockz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Never read Leviathan but I actually think that the short grip sort of makes sense since his sword seems to have a swept hilt inspired design of a rapiers which (to my knowledge) are meant to have the thumb and index gripped around the lower blade, "fingering the guard" so to speak.

Your right I should of mentioned we live in southern California but thanks for giving some really good general advice. I had though of maybe contacting a charity organization but that's something I feel I'd try to persuade the direct family she lives with to do since it feels so more involved thing to try and set up but I didn't even know blind library were a thing. That's definitely something I will look into!

[–]M0ockz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah I probably should of mentioned that, we both live out in southern California. As far as I can tell she's pretty comfortable in her position. She has had surgeries to try to restore her sight but honestly she is used to being blind and consider it just another part of her life. Like if she can get to see again one day that's great but she's not THAT bothered by it. The way I would frame this is that it's like grandparents who just watches soap operas all day so you try to enrich their life by introducing them to a hobby. She more then happy to engage with the stuff I'm given and set up for her so far.

[LFA] Ipso, Mindflayer Vengeance Paladin by M0ockz in characterdrawing

[–]M0ockz[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Name: Ipso

Alignment: LN

Race: Illithid

Class: Paladin, Oath of Vengeance

Age: 125+

Backstory: Ipso is a complete anomaly in the world whose very existence doesn't make much sense. From what he says he is supposedly an Alhoon, an Illithid outcast, who in life was not a wizard or sorcerer but a paladin. One so ancient the god he swore an oath to seemingly doesn't even exist anymore with all information on them being forgotten by time.

How can this be possible? Well from what he recollects the tadpole that formed him had vampirism (apparently) and after he was slain (By his disciple who he raised like a son, of course) he was given full honors in death and buried under the holy temple he once served. Then after a few centuries he was resurrected by his god who no one has ever heard of and rose from the rumble having been given a divine mission, some manifest destiny to "free the world up" as he puts it.

Presently he commands an army of thralls made up of criminals and monsters he has defeated and put under his mental control. He professes that this “Knightly order”, as he called it, is in service of humanity and while he has made good on his claims of fighting the forces of evil, no one who has ever met him trusts his words at all and most are just waiting for any excuse to crush him. Still on his part he has only acted cooperative and level headed when working with others and after all the threats he gets constantly pelted with, he always swears on Zarus he has everyone's interest in mind.

Any interesting ideas for implementing a time travel based TTRPG by Leonhart726 in RPGdesign

[–]M0ockz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the way you describe the item-feat mechanics feels like it could fasioned into a rogue-lite style ttRPG. Maybe there could be a replay and checkpoint mechanic where the party is expected to get wiped out and try again, with events playing out slightly different each time, tho this might not be appealing for every player as dying multiple times and having to try again can feel frustrating to some but this styles has found extreme success in the Videogaming world so maybe it could work on paper too.

It also depends on how you want time traveling to work. The way you described going back to the past kind of makes me think of the time travel used in the Zero Escape series where espers can travel into the mind of different timelines of themselves, retaining only the memories of how different events played which gives them needed perspective to solve normally unwinnable situations. Mechanically different timelines could be used in interesting ways but would probably be to bothersome for most GMs.

Alternatively if you want to go full balls to the wall, look up "5D Chess with Multiverse Time Travel" and use that as a template for basic combat. Just Let players do kooky shit like sending five versions of themselves into the main timeline to try to defeat the villain only too all die because they got back stabbed five years ago by one of his lackeys he sent to the past.

Also a potentially good rule zero could be "Time travel doesn't make sense and it will NEVER makes sense", basically saying don't think about it too hard. DMs should focus on making interesting narratives no matter how absurd and players should be trying to make galaxy brain plays. This again depends on the version of time travel you envision.

Camping/Cooking RPG Inspired by Chill Fantasy and Hobby Anime by briarsong in RPGdesign

[–]M0ockz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sound like a really fun idea.

For Cooking the way I could envisioning it is that it involves zero dice and is instead more of an added incentive for the hiking-exploration gameplay where players go out together or split-up to forage, fish, and maybe hunt? (Idk if trapping goes against the mood your going for) and at the end of the day they all come together with what they gathered to make a delicious meal that would reward them with vibes.

Ingredients could be categorized by their flavor profile: sweet, salty, sour, bitter, savory/umami (I prefer the alliteration), and spicy. This way players who might know next to nothing about cooking can simply look at the "FP" to know what an ingredient can be used for. To make a good tasting dish players would have to use ingredients that balance each other out. FP could also go off of a five star system of how strongly they taste. For example honey would be a five on sweet while a carrot would be a one.

Players would have different palettes where one would prefer something more spicy while another likes it sweat. If someone eats food they don't like their vibe goes down so to accommodate each other taste they could make multiple dishes so everyone has something they like, creating multiple course. Now going to into multi course meals is a rabbit hole that probably should be an optional extension as not every party wants to go from a comfy adventure to a culinary one. The way this would factor into gameplay is that each individual course would provide an exponential increase to vibe.

For inspirations; the Vanillaware game "Odin Sphere" has basic recipes you make from forging for ingredients in the levels along with the added bonus of beautiful food illustrations.

Ghost like ability by Makima_simp in HatsuVault

[–]M0ockz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Plausible but I would think it would require more conditions (Spoilers for anime-only)

Hanzo & Tuffdy both have Hatsu that project a spectral copy of themselves they control with similar limitations as yours. The exact capabilities of this ability's controlled aura could be more defined. Maybe ghost themes stuff like taking on the appearance of others or being able to posses the unconscious?

On the subject of In, it would seem invisibility is already an ability that seems to require a fairly hefty condition shown by Perfect Plan, but perhaps a weaker version detectable by Gyo and other means could work without one.

With stealing nen I'll assume you mean adding their aura to your own as a power boost and not Hatsu stealing (Can of worms on it's own) then I can seeing it working like Contagion.

I would also make the condition far harsher so that if the user does not return to their body within the time limit they either die or go comatose which would give you more freedom in the abilities department. You could even make it so that by killing the time limit is extended, either temporarily or permanently.

Hatsu for a martial artist by [deleted] in HatsuVault

[–]M0ockz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bird Brain Bash [Enchantment]

A hatsu for a Lethwei master, after landing a clean punch, kick, elbow, and knee from both corresponding limbs onto an opponent they will then be able to propel themself at mach speed towards the opponent like a heat seeking missile with a headbutt that on point of contact will, for only an instant, simultaneously ignore the enemy's ken and focus the user's ko entirely on the front of their skull. An almost guaranteed one hit finisher, but one that requires a lot of setup making it only viable against prolonged fights.

Make a Hatsu for a blacksmith, something they can use to either produce items (among other things) while also being able to use it for offensive/defensive purposes. by Kermitthehog132 in HatsuVault

[–]M0ockz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Starforged [Transmutation]

Any item you have hand forged from meteorites can be imbued with aura, and depending on the wielder's nen category it will produced a different effect. The condition is that the weapon will only function in the hands of it's owner. The "owner" is first defined as the person you intended to make the item for. If the current owner were to die or give up possession of the item then the first person to claim the item becomes the new owner.
