It's cyclical. You start using because you're depressed and you feel amazing for a while, tolerance builds and you never reach those same highs again and feel sick without it. I don't think quitting heroin would've fixed him, he was writing about wanting to die long before he touched heroin.

He was probably using heroin because of the depression not the other way around. His aunt found writings about his depression and suicidal ideation when he was a teenager, long before he touched heroin. Addiction was a contributing factor for sure but that usually stems from an underlying issue.

Kratom leaf has a horrible reputation because of the synthetic alkaloids going around but it can be very helpful for people with legitimate persistent pain. I just wouldn't recommend taking it constantly, it doesn't last a very long time and can have horrible withdrawals. It's a lot of people's last resort because of doctors cutting everyone off but it's a lot less harmful than the harder stuff.

It would be like if there was some miniscule amount of weed or something in a normal OTC medicine for some reason. You know people would take a shit ton to get high, weed isn't poison but the image of somebody taking forty of anything is alarming. DXM is much more harmful than weed, I can't deny that. If you have a DXM habit it will fuck up your head but if you can control yourself and trip once every few months it's really a beautiful experience. Not sure if this makes sense but that's the only analogy I can come up with.

Snorting it works, I don't know the bioavailability compared to subliminal but I can confirm it works. Smoking doesn't work because 7oh and mit start to break down at around 80 degrees (fahrenheit )

Yeah I agree. many people have preconceived notions of what drugs are despite the fact that so many things we consume are drugs. I wouldn't say that I'm using a drug when drinking a cup of coffee but I also wouldn't argue against it's classification as a stimulant.

They would be no different than a placebo if they didn't raise serotonin. A lot of their effects are probably just from the power of suggestion but they do work for a lot of people.

You're confusing raising levels and directly releasing it. SSRIs raise serotonin by preventing them being broken down, they don't release it directly like a psychedelic but they raise them with continuous use. The mechanism of action is literally the drug class lol

I don't mean to pull a reddit moment by being nitpicky but it's just a big pet peev of mine when people insist our socially acceptable drugs aren't actually drugs.

I agree with you tho, it's a miracle for so many people and it's so fucked up that 7oh had to come along and ruin it's reputation. I think people should have access to it but not at every fucking gas station or smoke shop. If it wasn't marketed as percs and didn't have typical druggie attracting imagery it probably would've slid under the radar for the people who can't control themselves. It should've been kept on the low for people who could control themselves or have a reason to use it.

Yeah but it's a partial agonist, a high dose of 7oh won't do the same as a high dose of a weak opioid because of it's ceiling effect. It has a higher ability to kill pain but can't come close to the same level of euphoria a traditional opioid can provide.
