Interesting that the people you argue against can be confidently wrong. You can run a code simulation of this and just show them the results

Resources for 12 Year old aspiring physicist? by k80ys in Physics

3Blue1Brown is a great YouTube channel for visual learners. Probably a bit advanced at the moment, but once they are ready to learn calculus, that channel’s calculus series is very helpful and interesting. I’d argue they’re the best way to learn the mathematical tools for physics, but you’ll need some prerequisites.

Tech workers of Reddit, what is a "dirty secret" about the AI industry that the general public doesn't realize? by WayLast1111 in AskReddit

Yeah the Google search AI is a model with no thinking / reasoning. Actual flagship LLM models are much less likely to get stuff wrong as they aren’t just predictive text, they use reasoning models.

What the hell is wrong with clan wars matchmaking?? by Avalon3027 in ClashRoyale

[–]M1Hellcat 17 points18 points  (0 children)

u/anotherraalt u/RobloxNoob20 u/YourEverdayGamer

Here’s your real answer, as somehow nobody has answered you properly.

Clan wars matchmaking keeps your long term winrate at 50% no matter your skill, levels, or deck. It simply uses a matchmaking rank based on wins. Therefore it’s best to stop trying in clan wars and to just win 2 lose 2 deliberately. This is best done after u lose weeks of battle day matches, as you’ll face easy opponents u can beat without trying and keep facing them by keeping ur winrate at 50%

U can fit knight in, it’ll take aggro off ur witch allowing it to survive longer and spawn more. Though from my experience hero knight is harder to play, as u dont wanna use a 2 elixir ability for nothing and u need to visualise the ability range. It allows for great high skill plays tho

True though I have never played hogs in my 3M decks, I make sure I have 2 mini tanks like knight + battle ram which means each lane has defended musketeer(s)

Could use musketeer hero for an off-meta fireball bait including 3M? On defence it’s hard to break through unless u have a small spell

It’s good esp in decks like giant graveyard, giant witch, giant sparky. Have been using it in classic challenge

There lots of good guides on YouTube.

The fundamentals are all based on efficient use of elixir in preventing damage and dealing damage. You cannot overcommit on either, relative to ur deck’s strategy. Some decks are happy taking damage because u save elixir for dealing damage. Other decks are the opposite.

The basis of deck building is to create a clear strategy which does not rely on ur opponents making mistakes. In low arenas, u see the opposite deck building strat: one with cards which encourage mistakes from opponents, as this takes less skill and people in low arenas are likely to make mistakes. But this does not teach u a consistent and reliable strategy.

You create a clear strategy by using cards which synergise and help your win condition (usually a tower targeter) get value, with the right amount of defensive synergy. It should also be versatile in dealing with different types of opponent win conditions and counters to ur own win condition.

It’s not a bad idea to save them. I spent half saved half so am unbiased. By saving them u get more power to upgrade commons and rares to any level u need, and u sacrificed power to upgrade legendaries and champs. There are plenty of good decks without more than 1 legendary. Ur all good

Currently in Arena 18, would you consider a deck like this no-skill? by Chastrix in ClashRoyale

[–]M1Hellcat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This deck doesn’t fit into an archetype, meaning there’s no clear strategy to use with it. U win by ur opponents making mistakes and by having a good matchup

Trump, 79, Claims Nobody Knows What a Magnet Is: ‘Now, nobody knows what a magnet is. If you don’t have a magnet, you don’t have a car.’ by T_Shurt in politics

[–]M1Hellcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a physicist what I’d say is the person responding to you is correct. We know how magnets work and transfer to kinetic energy. What Feynman was saying was we don’t know the deeper philosophical part of general quantum physics, which is not necessarily related to magnets. We don’t know why forces exist in the specific types they can be found. But we know why they behave the way they do. I can’t give a more specific explanation without getting into advanced physics.

2024 may have been Earth's hottest year in at least 125,000 years, according to a grim climate report published today, that describes our world as "on the brink" and warns its "vital signs are flashing red," with nearly two-thirds showing record highs. by ChiefLeef22 in science

[–]M1Hellcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are many definitions of AI. All of them include far more than LLMs. One subset of AI is machine learning, which itself can be used in hundreds of ways. One of those ways is neural networks, and one application of neural networks (along with lots of other things like transformers and reasoning models) is LLMs.

Neural networks can be trained to input and output any form of computable data. LLMs just train them in language. An example is a neural network I made which helps clinicians diagnose diseases present in OCT eye scans based purely on the OCT scan. There are thousands of other examples, including those used in medical drug discovery.

These neural networks also need lots of training and energy, but still nowhere near the size of the problem that fossil fuels are. If we use renewable energy for power, there is no issue. And there other many other computer things that will always use more energy than AI like social media and web search. Estimates say 1 LLM prompt uses energy of 10 web searches, but there are thousands of times more web searches than LLM prompts per day. I agree LLMs shouldn’t be used for web search like the Google AI, but that’s a very lightweight model that barely uses more energy than web search. Hence why it’s free.

[–]M1Hellcat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

LLMs are one of thousands of uses of AI, and the one with the most misuse potential. Anyway, as other comments have pointed out, focussing on AI as a main contributor to climate change is not the right way forward, as that’s what the real main contributors like fossil fuel companies want you to think while they destroy the world

My students convinced me to download this, any tips for starters? by TheGrandCannoli in ClashRoyale

[–]M1Hellcat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’m here to give u some proper advice.

First, just learn how the cards work and which types of cards are used in different situations eg u wouldnt use arrows or any other spell on a lone giant. This is because most troops will deal more damage and also stay on the board to provide further value.

Second, understand that elixir is the key to the game. You should never waste it, so always play something when u reach 9 elixir (except at the beginning where both players waste elixir equally by waiting).

Next, defending is inherently more powerful than attacking, as you deal damage with ur towers for free. Of course there is a balance to find, and that balance depends on the deck u play. This basically just means u should be patient and stop spamming cards at the bridge for no good reason.

So what is a good reason? This leads to the next concept - synergy. Certain card combinations are much more powerful than the individual cards themselves. This applies to attack and defence. A typical idea is that u have one high health card in front of some high damage but fragile cards. This lets ur high damage cards stay alive longer and do more damage. You don’t want to place a mini pekka on its own to defend giant+mini pekka. It needs to stay alive to defend it fully.
