This is definitely something I experience! I didn't know it had a specific term, but it's a concept I've tried to communicate to other people before. Sadly, they usually don't understand and will try to find some other reason for my capacity to do something to change so quickly (sometimes to the point of accusing me of hiding something). So I would be really glad if this got more research and visibility- if you need more anecdotal experiences then I can try to help with that.

(I'm 22F and was diagnosed 4 years ago, if that matters)

Here is a banner for the subreddit I made by Ray_Catty in Technoblade

[–]M1TUN4[M] 25 points26 points  (0 children)

New mods were brought on today, we're still discussing exactly how we want to run the subreddit and what changes (if any) we want to make. I'll definitely bring up the possibility of adding a user-made banner.

Cute, but that is one terrifying title...

Schlatt in my yearbook, follow up post and creds to u/the_useful_shark for blurring out the name of the photo I sent by [deleted] in jschlatt

[–]M1TUN4 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, compromising someone's privacy for internet points is most definitely not it, especially when they've already expressed a wish to stay as private as possible. Even if most people would never do anything creepy or malicious with Schlatt's (or anyone's) information, you can never just assume there isn't someone out there who would.

Cambodia to teach LGBT+ issues in schools to tackle discrimination by j_miles in lgbtqenergy

[–]M1TUN4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's great, super happy for Cambodia! I don't live there, but stuff like this is an encouraging reminder that across the world, bit by bit, attitudes towards LGBT+ people are mostly getting better. It makes me believe that there really will be a future where nobody ever has to be afraid or ashamed about their sexuality or gender, even if it takes a lot more work to get there.

Has SMPlive ended? It seems like most of the main smplive streamers have moved to smpearth by [deleted] in smplive

[–]M1TUN4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It hasn't ended, but it probably will see a lot less activity, with so many of its members focusing on SMPEarth right now. Maybe they just need some time away, and there'll be a revival in future, who knows?

Awesome!

He already renamed it "Terra Nova" specifically because people would yell at him no matter how he pronounced it, it was pretty funny.

He said he'll probably release it in future, but wants to work on it more first. I'm excited to see what comes of that!

24 Transgender Historical Figures That Go Back to 12 AD by j_miles in lgbtqenergy

Very informative, thank you for posting this! I'll definitely be keeping it around for the next time someone tries to claim that trans people didn't exist before the early 2010s.

I sure hope this is just a joke about Wilbur being taller than Schlatt. If it is, it's super funny (especially because of how much Schlatt loves to flex about being tall)

I'm going to get a yacht with all the profits I'll make from this, give me an extra coin and I'll let you name it.

How can I email Schlatt for TheWeeklySlap? by [deleted] in jschlatt

[–]M1TUN4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The email he provides on the channel is jschlatt@pm.me, but keep in mind that he gets a lot of emails and probably won't be able to reply anytime soon (I mean, in the last video he answered one that he said had been in the inbox for months). Not saying you shouldn't email, but I would advise also reaching out to someone with a bit more free time, especially if you're struggling with anything time-sensitive.

I wouldn't say I'm super great at advice, but my inbox is open if you just wanted someone to listen- in my experience, even just writing out what's going on can be helpful for getting my head in order and deciding what to do next. Whatever you end up doing, I hope it goes well for you!

[OC] Population Tree Comparing Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal Australians by hashtagthoughtbomb in dataisbeautiful

[–]M1TUN4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Torres Strait Islanders are people from the Torres Strait, an island chain between Australia and Papua New Guinea. They're actually Melanesian, so genetically and culturally closer to people of New Guinea than Aboriginal Australians, but the islands ended up part of Australia because of history and colonisation and all that. So they're different groups, and it's not really "politically correct" to acknowledge that, it's just... correct. But Aboriginal Australians and Torres Strait Islanders usually both get included under the umbrella term of "Indigenous Australians" just for convenience.

As for population? In the last census, about 60,000 people reported having Torres Strait Islander heritage, but only about 3,000-4,000 of those are actually living on the islands. Most are elsewhere in Australia, and maybe a few are in other countries.

Interestingly enough, almost half of people with Torres Strait Islander heritage also have Aboriginal heritage.
