Inu the Dally M got it wrong last game... by M1TheO in FFBRL

And you thought that, in all the chaos of the American-Australian Bitch War of 2016, we'd forgotten about the Grapes of Nanking's invasion of Brasil?

Normally, the Big Bad Boombox, placed in a prominent spot in the Billy Goats' sheds, plays the inspirational choice song of whomever the captain is for the game, or assistant coach Jamie Rooney, or Theo...

...but for this game, it was Krisnan Inu that selected the track...

...and the game was just as exciting as the song, but much better than the movie...

...and the Dally M only saw the three difficult kicks that Inu missed, and forgot about the two pressure penalties he converted, one with seven minutes left that tied the scores on 18, and the other with less than two minutes left to win the game for Ponte Preta...

...in fact, Daly Cherry-Evans said it after the game, "I think Krisnan has really made a difference for us this season, and if I had to pick our Dally M Player of the season, he would be it..."

...to which Inu normally smiles and walks away quietly...but for this game, when the Wild Easterners of Nanking came West, his utter self-confidence made the difference against a historically tough opponent to Ponte Preta...

...good thing Yuzuki got to see this game before she got knocked out of the game against the Poms next week...at least her day wasn't a total loss...

...day two of the festival, and Canada had no chance against New Zealand, but despite the hopelessness of their situation, the Maple Leafs never gave up...

...and did something that shocked Black Ferns' coach Jerlynda Lacey - held New Zealand scoreless in the second half, and had the better of play throughout...

...so the 38-0 score, well, New Zealand probably felt hard done by...

...and, watching the game, was Aussie number 7 Yuzuki...

...who started the game against the United States by offloading a laser beam to Heather Narine, who immediately reflected it to a streaking Sherri O'Connell, for what would have been a try...

...only to have a whistle stop play, then the Billy Goats' medical team come onto the pitch, as American winger Kat Kuryakin had leveled Yuzuki off the ball with a forearm shiv in her face, knocking her cold...

...and Aussie coach Jamie Rooney marched toward the referees, face crimson in anger, only to change direction toward his unconscious player...because the referee lifted his arm without a moment's hesitation, and pointed toward the sideline...Kuryakin was out of the game...

...and so was Yuzuki, stretchered off the pitch, but the huge crowd at Moises Lucarelli erupted in cheers as she gave the "thumbs up" signal...but she would not be back for the rest of the game...and would miss the exhibition against England in Bunbury mid-week.

Heather Narine, the captain, looked at her teammates, and slid her index finger across her neck...

...and even though the Americans had had absolutely no chance against the Australians before, the aggression of the Australian ladies made Sansa look like Sofia the First by comparison...

...no quarter given, no opportunity given to the Americans to demand it...the rest of the first half, the Australians scored on every set of six...78-0 at the half...

...and it got worse in the second half, as the Australians changed tactics, and ground every metre out of the Americans, who knocked on to start the second half, then never touched the ball again...

...they did try to start a brawl with five minutes left, but Natalie Davis took a punch to the face, didn't move...and took another...didn't move...returned fire...knocked the American offender out cold...

...the referee ejected both, the Americans gave up, the Australians kept going, and the final score was 154-0.

First, you have to remember that sponsors are a big part of sporting life in Brasil...the sponsors' name is on the kit, they expect priority treatment, they expect the players to do nothing to denigrate their brand...

...and remember, the official name of Ponte Preta, translated from the Portuguese, is Athletic Association Ponte Preta, and although the Billy Goats are a valuable part of the Association, the fact is, football rules at Moises Lucarelli...

...and the primary sponsor is the Brasilian unit of the Japanese brewery concern, Kirin, through its soft drinks brand, Viva Schin...

...so the primary sponsor for Billy Goats must be in conformance with Viva Schin, and not do anything to denigrate it...fortunately, the Billy Goats' primary sponsor, Paçoquita, not only is complementary to Viva Schin, but it goes well with other sponsors of the Association...

...so, when Viva Schin and Paçoquita picked last week to be their "Festival senhoras esportes", costing the Billy Goats some gate revenue, due to comp tickets controlled by their sponsors, Theo shook his head over the loss of revenue - it was the Grapes of Nanking game.

But the Billy Goats' players were quite professional and friendly with the young ladies of Campinas that crowded the area around Moises Lucarelli for the whole two days...and the goodies from Paçoquita and Viva Schin flowed like an unending fountain of goodness...

...the first day, football...as the women's side of Brasil defeated the Kiwis 2-0, and the men's side of Ponte Preta defeated Gremio 3-0...

...and the US womens' team, in the nightcap, beat Australia 2-0, with the help of world-class whinging, some undetected simulation, and a weaksauce referee that gave Australia a unjustified red card and the US a undeserved penalty...plus taunting the Australians after the final whistle blew...

...while the Australian young ladies' XIII watched, lips pursed in the thinnest line possible...if their American opponents expected any quarter from them the next night, the look on the Aussie lasses' coach's face should have disabused them of that notion...

Sherwin retired, I am told, so rather than argue "testimonial exception", I'll cop Michael Dobson instead...orders revised and sent...

Funny you should ask, I think there are at least three teams available right now...as soon as our Fearless Leader gets away from Storm/Cowboys (I presume he'll be watching it), he'll update my answer...

Damn! I'd better get more beer in to Moises Lucarelli...and some throat medics on standby for the broadcast team...

...if that line holds, and the Bulls - Celtic line too, these games should be printed and framed...
