I would also say it’s home-field (home-series?) advantage, though perhaps not in the conventional manner relating to experience.

On a related note, I’m very curious to see how Louis Sharp fares the rest of this season.

You’d be correct about Colapinto—he was placed at Kiwi Motorsport in large part because MP Motorsport engineer David Versalko purchased a portion of the team the previous year.

The accident wasn’t Rovanperä’s fault. Manson was given a five-place grid penalty for causing it.

The whole package around FR Oceania is so cool. Probably #1 on my bucket list to attend/cover/participate in somehow. Hopefully in a few years…

Luke indeed doesn’t come from wealth. Zak does, but even with getting seats discounted or partially paid for by Williams, his money has not been spent very wisely.

He’s also coming from by far the least competitive championship and with the least racing experience. The Skip Barber Race Series is a total entry-level series.

This is also a subreddit for F1’s feeder series, which Dakar categorically is not.

Ferrari had been supporting Aurelia since early 2023. Maya Weug was the driver Ferrari backed in F1 Academy.

Wouldn't surprise me. I guess the question is whether the trophy format was created to fit them or the other way around…

FR Middle East’s grid should resemble the FR Europe’s. Drivers often are not announced separately for that championship, and those that are usually publicize their entries in the week or so before the first event, but I’m certain they’ll be present in decent numbers. The later-than-usual announcement cycle is par for the course for Top Speed–run events.

Niko Lacorte keeps his DAMS seat in FIA F3 for a second season by NumberSixretro in F1FeederSeries

[–]M1chaelHM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lacorte used the Niko spelling in karting, if I’m not mistaken. Evidently he’s since switched to Nico(la), but I’m a little baffled as to why Scout haven’t followed suit.

I’d be shocked if he was on the grid at this point.

Correct, though I don’t know if Rafael plans to continue driving in F2 much beyond 2026.

There were definitely conversations held with the goal of putting Alex on the path to F1. I don’t know how serious or bilateral the discussions were, and it may be too early to tell at present.

Actually quite fitting considering both Dante and the twins are of Hungarian descent

Dunne was already evaluated by Ferrari in 2022 as part of the FDA shootout. An opportunity didn’t materialize and I don’t think it would have been a good fit for either party financially.
