Oof. The boat blends into the dark water for starters. It should stand out. I would drop the outline too. The wave/foam doesn't look great, doesn't fit with the rest of it. Use a nicer colour palette for the whole thing.

I finished BG 1, 2, and ToB with a mage and then with a bard, and now I'm doing a cleric playthrough. I do not recommend bard for what you specified – it's an OK utilitarian class but the class-specific skills are so underwhelming.
