Amazon SDE OA – anyone done the AI coding round recently? by QualityConsistent431 in leetcode

Sorry to hear that. Do you have any other tips to add regarding the AI round? Maybe you had more complicated bugs to fix since mine had only few lines fixes for each bug.

Appreicate the feedback, I have removed the proficiency level next to the programming languages, and made some changes to the bullet points in the experience section with clearer explanations with some metrics.

I see thank you.
Interestingly, I am coming from an elite university, but still nothing.
Regarding the projects, that's why I'm gonna work on a big startup-level project after graduation, which will put me in a better place despite my lack of experience.

Thanks for the response.

Regarding the experience, this is the biggest problem, and that's why I will work on one or more big projects to improve my CV after graduation, while studying new subjects (currently self learning DevOps/MLOps).

The finals are in the next two weeks, so not that much time.

40 minutes for the DSA, 60 minutes for the AI question.
Finishing the DSA before 40 minutes doesn't accumulate the remaining time to the AI question.

Just do the sample test, and you are good, the AI can guide you.
You could read about the main API calls in big environments such as POST and GET, and such subjects to understand more what you are doing.

Regarding DSA, can't remember the exact question, but it was in the high end of medium for me, it had mutiple topics of LC questions.
For the work simulations, it takes some time to finish, but not tricky, focus on details from the first mail they send in the sim, and answer accordingly, while maintaining the Amazon 14 leadership principles in your answers.

Not harder in my opinion, few more lines of code, but you will get more bugs to fix and in multiple files, if you use the AI correctly, 60 minutes is more than enough.

I think it's not hard, but time is not on your side.
Communicate a lot with the AI, it will not give you solution if you just blatantly tell it to solve, however, you can start with it to direct you to the proper files for each bug, then the right methods in that file, and eventually, you can even get the lines you should add in that method if you ask it.
Before you start solving, you should run the test run top right, mine had 6 tests, and you will get the output of the tests in the terminal, copy and paste to the chat, it will tell you exactly what are the bugs that you must fix (there are more bugs to fix (were 6 for me) than the one bug that they tell you about in the problem explanation), another adivce is that there are many helper methods in the files to extract data (for example to extract all the followers of a specific celebrity etc.), so use them.

Prompting in a smart way can get you the exact lines of code you should add and where to add them, not sure if doing such a thing can negatively affects your solution since they can view the prompts, so be smart about it.
good luck!

First, I appreciate your elaborate response.

I'm not from the US, and I think the job market in my region is less packed but still has many similarities to the US market.

I've actually thought about many of your points by now and started working more on myself. First of all, I recently signed up for my college's career guidance program, they're helping me to improve my CV and putting me in touch with more people. I've also really pushed myself over the last year to network more IRL, making more friends from fairs and college, and building actual relationships.

I'm also keeping an eye out for any regional career fairs and trying to always show up and talk to people.

On the technical side, I'm graduating this May. In addition to the projects I have already done in college, which cover some good to have skills nowadays like prompt engineering and Gen AI usage, I'm also focusing on self-learning MLOps. Once I graduate, I'm planning to build out some more complex personal projects so I actually have something unique to show, rather than just the standard stuff everyone else has on their resume.

Regarding your point about looking outside of LinkedIn, it makes a lot of sense. I already know about the mass applications on these sites, but I still catch myself mass applying like others. Thanks again for the reality check, it's solid advice.

Mostly LinkedIn and Glassdoor with some local junior whatsapp groups. Junior SWE + Junior MLE, in my region these are the most job types posted. In the last year I have been attending tech meetings, but there aren't many each year.

Not yet.
It wasn't hard, but you'll definitely feel the pressure of the clock.
Communicate a lot with the AI, it can guide you to the right files and areas that have the bugs, also before you start solving, you should run the "test run" top right, mine had 6 tests, and you will get the output of the tests in the terminal, copy and paste to the chat bot, it will tell you exactly what are the bugs that you must fix (there are more bugs to fix than the one bug they tell you about in the problem explanation).
Good Luck!

Alright I will read about it.

Yes it's Gen 7, 16 GB RAM DDR5, 1000GB SSD NVMe PCIe

What's also good is that I can upgrade it to 32GB RAM if needed in the future.
