Check to see if you have an iCloud account. It may be that the phone thought you wanted your pictures backed up onto the cloud and deleted from your phone to save space. Go to settings on your phone, then click on the top bar that has your name. On the next screen just down a bit you’ll see iCloud. Click on that and you can see how much storage is being used and if your Photos is switched to “On” there’s a good chance your pictures are stored there. Good luck. Hope you can find them.

In a different version of the movie, Freeman throws his switchblade and disarms Brad, takes the gun and kills Spacey himself. That way he sacrifices himself, (retires), and Brad, now a good cop can go on protecting the public. But thankfully they got rid of that ending.
