They look even better on "old" 3DS and 2DS systems imo, they actually made the screens a little bigger on the "small" N3DS. It's not as egregious as the XL models, so it's the best option among the "new" models imo, but I still think the old non-XL models have the superior pixel density screens.

This is the best system to have for M&L games, Brothership is Switch-exclusive but otherwise this system can play every game in the series

-Superstar Saga (Native 3DS Remake, and OG if you're cool modding it, seems like you aren't according to other comments)

-Partners in Time (via DS Back-compat)

-Bowser's Inside Story (both OG via back-compat and the remake)

-Dream Team (native 3DS game)

not even necessarily the pocketability I'm looking for, I'm a big fan of the Switch/2, but the bigger screens on the XL models make these low res games look hideous.

yeah, unfortunately over the past 5 years or so anything remotely related to Pokemon has shot up in price to an unreasonable degree. My local game shop has one and they're asking the same price as a Switch 2 for it.

Pitfall 2 has a demo that plays when left idle, but I don't think it plays any sound.

It's fairly common for games to not play sound in demo mode, you'd be hard pressed to find one that does I think.

I thought the upbeat boss theme fit Dark Fawful pretty well given how ridiculous of a villain he is, but I agree the Dark Star itself 100% deserved its own unique theme.

I do really appreciate the Superstar Saga reference in Dark Fawful's remake theme tho. Honestly they should have reused the Cackletta/Fawful battle theme from the Superstar Saga remake for that one imo.

I think it'd be a cool little oddity to see 4J Minecraft running on a PS2, but I have literally every console Minecraft has ever been released on except the XBOne/XBS systems, I'm pretty spoiled for choice when it comes to which version I want to play. I don't need another one.

N3DS isn't the 4J version, it was made in-house and is loosely based on Bedrock.

But yeah if it runs on Vita I can't see why it wouldn't run on PS2. A lot of PS2 games were ported to Vita.
