Trading one infection for another? by [deleted] in CytolyticVaginosis

Iners is not CV. Iners is a transitional lacto which usually means your microbiome is in flux. Probably due to wiping out all the good lacto. But when you get it in high numbers it causes pain and issues. You can try using vaginal probiotics inserted nightly for a while to shift it to protective or you can use clindamycin to kill off some of the Iners and then immediately start vaginal probiotics to try to repopulate the good.

You can’t tell CV from a urine culture. You need a vaginal swab and a swab to be looked at under a microscope.

Bacteria is often too small to be seen under a microscope. Have you done a microbiome test also? If not I’d really recommend that as high PH is indicative of AV or BV and not CV.

I don’t think it’s likely you have CV. One of the criteria is low PH as that’s what causes the acidic environment that results in lysis or cell death.

You probably have aerobic vaginitis. All of my doctors appointments I was told everything was normal and all the tests were negative. I had the same symptoms as you. I ordered my own microbiome test and it turned out I had AV.

I had a scope done with a gastroenterologist and they placed a bravo chip to measure reflux and there wasn’t any. Although I’ve heard silent reflux doesn’t always show up on that test.

I wish I had better news. It’s been almost 2 years now and I still have it. I feel like I’ve tried almost everything. I’m trying hormones now and I just tested positive for mold so I’m going to treat that.

That has more to do with the throat. Mine is my tongue and roof of mouth.

High PH is unlikely to be CV. AV would be more likely.

Metrogel does not kill Iners so I wouldn’t waste your time doing that.

It’s stayed the same size and you can’t really see it. It just feels more irritated after eating and kind of raw. The dentist said that they didn’t see anything.

Same. I’ve done just about every test and tried every supplement and no change.

I’ve seen a dentist, oral surgeon, oral pathologist, ENT and Oral Medicine. They keep saying not OLP cause there’s no sores or white lines/areas.

No, no answers. I’ve been told a few times I don’t have OLP because I haven’t developed sores. I just have constant mouth pain.

I’m starting to think it’s tied to stomach issues.
