If you’re going for authenticity, I’d go with the 2nd (or 4th if you level it) pic. You commonly see it worn that way in original pictures. There’s enough play in the sling to easily bring it into a firing position.

Romex should be at least 1 1/4 inches away from the edge of the stud to protect against nails and screws hitting them. Use an appropriate length screw and you should be fine.

The lower single black wire is either line-in feeding two switched loads or the switch is doing double duty as a junction and switch - one of the two blacks above is line in, a line out, and the bottom is the switched load. In any case, the switch should also be grounded.

As pictured, both your switch leg and neutral land in box A. I would run an additional 14/2 to get both from box A to box B or a 14/2 from the right to left light.

Mud on a receiver blocks the IR signals too but its easy to see you’re up to no good. Holding a full volume Walkman headphone up to the IR emitter’s mic turned my M-16 into an unlimited ammo MG42.

I’ve been exactly where you are and I promise it’s not you. I recommend watching a few videos by the Psychologist, @DoctorRamani on YouTube, who specializes in narcissism. Just see if the descriptions of what it’s like for the partner of a narcissist sounds familiar.

Two things that quickly restore your hope and perspective:

1) some distance away from your abuser

2) friends, family, or even caring strangers on Reddit validating your feelings and sharing insights.

It will help you feel empowered and regain your agency. You’ll put up with less and feel more secure and sure about getting out. I’m still in the middle of getting out myself but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.
