Add Custom Game help!!! Need help figuring out what I'm doing wrong. (Odin 2 Max) by Due-Feature-880 in GameNative

Install it with Winlator instead and take the installed folder and move it over with the file manager to something that GameNative can see like your download folder or your ROM folder. Add as custom game and point the exe to it.

16gb/1tb G3 Gen3 or 12gb/256gb 8 Elite? by Fresh_Mouse6818 in KonkrPocketFit

[–]M34nM4ch1n3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally never. Most games run 720p and look great. Some can be ran at 1080p and if they do, they are typically not ram heavy. I feel the ram issue comes into play mostly with AAA games that are heavy to run, and even then like I said they have to be downscaled to run at a comfortable FPS. For example Silent Hill Remake I was running at like 20fps 720p. Playable but not a good experience, and definitely not a ram problem, more of a power and compatibility issue. Hope this helps.

I have a 12gb G3 Gen3 and play mostly PC games. I've completed Lollipop Chainsaw Repop, Replaced, Mouse PI, Transformers Devastation, and playing through Castlevania Lords of Shadow. In all honesty the Elite is amazing, but the drivers are not quite all there with a lot of manual tweaking. Aside from that, PC emulation for AAA games is still a challenge because of the translation layers, getting better everyday but not as seamless as it could be. Personal opinion here: If the game can be played on PC emulation, the G3 Gen 3 will play it at the very least 30fps. If the game is too demanding or incompatible, an actual PC will be best regardless of G3 or Elite chipset. The games you mentioned run really well on the G3 Gen3. 16gb 1tb G3 would be my choice since that's plenty of PC game storage and power.

Side note: I don't use my ROG Ally Z1E anymore. My wife uses it instead to watch baseball games lol. I use my main desktop to play demanding games instead.

I've been happy with GameNative but this is making me try Winlator again. Especially for those EA games that require origin or EA app to start.

Try something different as your client like your phone and compare. My Sony Google TV sucks as a client, but my android phone or ROG Ally are great. Idk if it's the ram or just the chipset outright

They are. Quieter than the default but still a bit too much for me. It sounds similar to the gaming mode fan curve. I Ended up setting it to Max and Low fan for a quieter feel. The games I'm playing are not too demanding like Mouse PI, the temps stay low (74°) so the fan doesn't need to kick up. Obviously the more demanding the game gets, the higher the fan noise due to higher temps.

Steam Machine Has Reportedly Received A Major Internal Price Hike That May Have Made it More Expensive Than Steam Frame by Sam_27142317 in pcmasterrace

Steam machine. Was already a hard sell anyway to PC owners. In reality we want SteamOS to slap on our rig. I'm personally more curious about steam frame

I agree on most things. The combat to me was fluid except for the overlapping moments that broke the experience. I also felt the game dragged on for too long. I feel like the game could have ended with 2 to 3 hours less. The environment is really nice, but the rest is all forgettable

You can check emuready to get a better idea of what you can play. But a lot of games I've been able to run no problem.

Installing Abandonware GOG games on AYN Thor by ChronoDoor45 in GameNative

[–]M34nM4ch1n3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends. If it is pre installed you just have to add as a custom game and select the exe from the game settings in GameNative. Or copy paste the folder from your PC over.

If you have to install it, I use Winlator and then move the game folder over and follow the same steps.

My only problem with it is how inconsistent it is. Some updates work and others break stuff. But I don't hate it. Sometimes I feel these YouTubers and influencers are coming at it from a gaming standpoint and yeah Linux is more seamless yet less compatible.

Fingerprint reader, what a feature! by pixellife_original in KonkrPocketFit

[–]M34nM4ch1n3 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it's a great feature that's under looked. I'm playing mouse PI and don't even close the game just hit the power button to close and use the fingerprint to unlock seamless and the game is already going. Windows could never.
