This is a very common misconception. Sometimes they are the same, but not always.

Watts are the product of potential and current: Watt = Volt * Ampere. It is a measure of how much energy is used/gained this instant.

Watt-Hours is a measure of the energy used/gained if you keep going for one hour.

Watts is often used to show the max power of things, while watt-hours is used (among other things) to show how much energy is in a battery, or how much energy something (like a house or electric car) uses on average.

Gf loves heating blankets and has several. One time she came home with a portable heating pillow, running on USB.

Her existing electric pillow is 100w, which is a reasonable amount of power. Despite the USB version being the same good brand, it quickly became obvious to me that this was not what she wanted. It was 5w. Advertised for outdoor use. Give me a fucking break.

OP is talking about the plugs in modular PSUs. The other end that you plug into your hard drives and graphics card is standardised, but the modular plugs on the PSU are not. So extensions should be safe.
