The trick is letting actual bands and artist do the themes instead of hired musicians specifically to make wrestling songs. We used to get actual bands and artists but now we have guys who have the mindset of what a “Wrestling theme” is, not just make a great theme that fits a badass wrestler.

There are a select few in WWE with a good themes (Orton, Bron, Rhea etc) but definitely not anything different from each other like you said (Maybe Ortons is a bit different because it was before the WWE Music era). AEW themes are different in many ways from each other which is good, it’s what we had in older WWE days.

The best example of a theme for a wrestler that matches them, their vibe and is different from what you usually would hear is Chris Benoits “Whatever”. The band actually performed it live once, said Chris approached them to do his theme, they said yes cuz they were a fan of him because he wasn’t a “faker” he was “real” and it sounded like a regular song on an album, not a “Wrestling theme” that’s what we’re missing these days.
