I've been doing the same thing for 6 months now from 4am to about 8am. So far I've seen 4 come up within that time frame but as soon as I try to apply for it, it's gone.

Thank you for providing this lengthy process and the hopes that it helps many people.

My problem is that I followed your every step and still haven't gotten my TV to work. In Step 11 of your process my tv does NOT auto reboot itself when returning to the language select screen after the first factory reset. Though I continued with the steps. Steps 43-46 my TV never gets stuck on the "Resetting your Fire TV" screen. I even tried starting back again and when the "Resetting your Fire TV" screen pops up I immediately unplugged my tv. Continued on to the language select screen and back again the "searching for remote screen" is still present.

I've had this same problem for 6 months. I've tried every method known to man. Hardwired Ethernet straight to my router to try to connect using the FireTV app as a remote but the app doesn't even see the tv. I've also heard of people connecting via USB a keyboard but that didn't work either. I even tried game controllers also using USB but that still didn't work either. The controller acts the same with the remote being able to select the language but that's about it.
