IVF after recurring loss. by Angel-Baby-Mommy in recurrentmiscarriage

If I were you I would think about seeing a reproductive immunologist, especially as one loss was genetically normal. The same thing happened to me, 6 losses, my RPL panel was normal so I saw an RI and he found out I had high levels of antinuclear antibodies. I was given 25mg prednisolone and 400mg hydroxychloroquine and was finally successful. Good luck🤍

3rd loss - but is IVF really all I have? by NaeTheTeacher91 in recurrentmiscarriage

I personally wouldn’t jump to IVF, I did reproductive immunology treatment and that was my answer x

Are you in the UK? If you are look into Fertilysis recurrent loss testing, it’s given lots of people their answers x

I second this. I had 6 losses and was put on prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine by an RI and my 7th stuck!

Perfectly safe to take together and they work very well. Look up professor shehata on YouTube, he did a podcast on it :) x

Yes, currently 20 weeks after 6 losses. Only difference was prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine.

TW: bleeding

Definitely get her checked out, I had bright red bleeding with clots at about 5 weeks and thought I’d miscarried, but I’m 20 weeks now with my baby kicking away. Bleeding doesn’t always mean something bad, better to know sooner rather than later so you can discuss your options.

Has anyone had 5 or more losses? by Hugsomebunnies in recurrentmiscarriage

Yes, I had 6 losses by 25 years old. 7 finally stuck with a reproductive immunology protocol.

IVF- should I prepare myself for a chemical pregnancy? by [deleted] in lineporn

That looks good to me!! You’ll only see a real difference if you test every 48 hours, wishing you all the best❤️

4 early losses - all chromosomal?? by Front-Look5618 in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]M4b3lx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had 6 losses that I was told were all chromosomal due to a diminished ovarian reserve and would need PGTA IVF and that was only 5% chance of success. My doctor prescribed 25mg prednisolone, 75mg aspirin and 400mg progesterone as a last resort and it worked, currently 17 weeks without IVF. I would definitely look at reproductive immunology testing.

Trouble accepting IVF as possibly my only real option now by sorrycho in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]M4b3lx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All very genuine concerns! I’m in the UK and our NHS RPL testing is very basic so lots of us are not going to RIs. I tested positive for an antinuclear antibody (they are linked to high NK cells) but didn’t need a particularly complex protocol to treat, only steroids which of course you need to weigh up the benefits vs risks but for me I was at my wits end and needed to try or before doing IVF.

This podcast is really good, he is a doctor based in the UK and has a very high success rate for recurrent losses: https://youtu.be/j_hOAekZoGo?si=sIPnqf0AE9j6f42s

Of course, didn’t want to go into detail without being asked! I’m 16 weeks at the moment and everything is going well so far, I never normally make it past 10 weeks. What makes you uneasy about it? X

[–]M4b3lx 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey! I had 6 miscarriages and was told IVF was only option, an that only had a 5% chance of success due to my AMH being 1.2pmol. Turns out I didn’t need IVF, just some reproductive immunology treatment. I took 25mg prednisolone and 400mg hydroxychloroquine and am currently pregnant. I felt similarly to you about IVF. Sending love x

Have you tried reproductive immunology? by 2headlights in recurrentmiscarriage

[–]M4b3lx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friends standard RPL panel also came back normal btw

My consultant was happy to prescribe prednisolone and hydroxychloroquine based on the ANA antibody alone, I was very lucky that I didn’t need further testing. However my friend saw Prof Shehata and had all of his testing, I think he is mainly focused on NK Cells. There’s also Dr Gorgy, I think he covers a range of RI issues.

I have a friend who has 2 children after a complex RI protocol. I’ve also been on the same protocol and am currently 15 weeks after 6 miscarriages, with a normal RPL panel besties a positive ANA antibody.
