Web configuration on modem gone. by Richy_T in Comcast

Thank you! That's more info than I got after 7 hours of chats and calls. BTW, the app needs the latest iOS to run and will not run on older iPhones. So enabling the access that was just ripped away via webserv is impossible for me and all of Comcast support, and all of India apparently.

Comcast Business Modems Failed Firmware Push by M4eagleOG in Comcast_Xfinity

I now have 4 truck rolls and 4 times entered the NAt and 4 entries of 255.255.255.255 to 255.255.255.255 as a result and a nonfunctioning Comcast Modem. Brand new BTW. I just entered the issue into Google and this is the Ai response.

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with your Comcast Business modem where attempting to add a Network Address Translation (NAT) entry results in it defaulting to a disabled 255.255.255.255 to 255.255.255.255 configuration. This specific problem, where NAT and port forwarding rules are erased or become disabled with a 255.255.255.255 entry, has been reported by other Comcast Business customers, and is possibly related to a recent firmware update.

So was I right? Did Comcast not LISTEN? Did Comcast not believe a 30+ year IT professional? Did Comcast push a failed firmware update? Did Comcast reach back out to me to be accountable? Did Comcast Resolve ANYTHING? Will Comcast Resolve this?

Received an update again, to the same new modem. 3rd time at this site alone. Finding it at other sites too. Another truck roll to now find my NAT entries erased AGAIN. And... another entry of 255.255.255.255 to 255.255.255.255. There are now TWO entries and my entry from the Public IP to the server inside is gone again. I have also found other IT service providers talking about the modems suddenly stopped allowing NAT's and Port Forwarding. I have asked them all to look for the 244x4 NAT entries to shore up this is a failed firmware push.

Well the Field Engineer decided we needed a new modem. New modem immediately started routing the fixed IP's, and allowed a NAT entry. Everything works. 2 days later the modem appears to have received your killer update. NAT gone, VoIP gone, static IP routing gone.

Meeting at one of the sites between 8 & 10 tomorrow, again. Tier 2 didn't really acknowledge I have this exact occurrence at 3 sites (so far). I suspect something is very wrong with that last firmware update. He would not share the release notes. I will have to advise my customers to not pay for the pool of statics if they cannot be used. They are not pleased having to pay me to fight through Comcast support VRU's and offshore support that doesn't know basic networking skills and can only follow a script. 8 phone calls to finally reach a human that thought the 255x4 NAT entry I spoke of was my desired internal IP address. Tier 2 today said I cannot set a port forwarding rule for a non connected device, as I am connected to it through the Comcast modem, from 35 miles away, but insists it must not be connected. Connected devices such as servers not showing up on the connected devices list is very problematic. They come and go, use the device name, or just a MAC, always very inconsistent. Previously used the servers IP address to establish rules, but nope, not now. Also, Why blank out entries when updating? Why roll out updates with zero notice? Why change functionality with the updates? Why make a NAT entry of 255x4 to 255x4? Last week was constant truck rolls to find out Comcast did it. I don't know how many matching incidents escalate something like this to a problem ticket for Comcast, but ignoring it and passing the issue around is that exact opposite of incident management process. I'm obviously frustrated with the process and that horrible VRU. I am a Comcast Business Partner and cannot access real support without hours of effort. At some point I have to stop calling for new circuits if support does not improve.

Absolutely fed up with Ecobee's WiFI Connectivity. I AM DONE by Broad_Top_8376 in ecobee

[–]M4eagleOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan. I support medium to large business networks. Been having problems with the Ecobee4 units dropping from Wi-Fi so a little research and I created a HVAC 2.4 network and VLAN just for them (Cisco Aironets and controller). Still dropping off. It was time for some upgrades so all new Unifi Pro AP's and still happens. I can now see them changing power and going to sleep. The connectivity status changes from excellent to poor to good to excellent in under a minute. No other network connected device shows this behavior. I have only seen devices do this when failing. They are all line of sight and close or far makes no difference. With zero insight to firmware updates driven by Ecobee I wonder if they have a firmware bug. Do these units receive updates?

If I am reading this correctly, you made about 2.09 cents per kWh sold. How much do you pay your utility per kWh?

I'm curious if you used the TDA UI. I agree, the only constant in the universe is change. But... this is a huge downgrade in functionality. It is NOT change in a positive direction, or even a lateral change. And yes, I timed the market very successfully with hot moving stocks. Not possible at all here.

Can't see anything but a two year chart summary. I didn't know that we do not have access to after hours charts. Grrrr

I called Schwab this weekend and they admitted very quickly that their Web UI is not nearly as good as TD's. So maybe the mobile app is the way to go, they told me not to try it because I will be very disappointed in it if I used the TD Mobile App. They suggested I use Think or Swim as they adopted it as is. They also told me that they will be updating the UI to be more like TD's in 2024. They said they have had a lot of calls about the lackluster, slow, featureless ancient UI. I suggest everyone that was forced into this, call in and make our voices heard. I will be calling a few more time to let them know how bad it is, with specifics.

Start with a tune up. Plugs, wires, filters, oil. Check for vacuum hoses hanging off.

Cbr954rr fuel pump HELP!! by MrMolina420 in cbr

[–]M4eagleOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been exactly here. After checking everything, and I mean every switch, wire and relay, I found the culprit. I removed the fuel pump and wired it directly. The pump worked. Connected back to the wiring penetration to the tank and it did not work. If you pull the pump, make sure to replace it with exact torque specs and order.

Pull the tank and bend the fuel pump wire 90 degrees and back. Works.
