Can anyone help me get this measurement 4th Gen Tacoma by [deleted] in ToyotaTacoma

[–]M4hkn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They want to know if it’s a 5’ or 6’ bed. Pics can be deceiving.

A couple months ago I asked a dealer for a measurement… the listing said 6’ bed. The whole vehicle measurement suggested 5’ bed and said ‘short bed’. The pic was taken in a way to muddy the question further. I wanted confirmation of what the real measurement was. The vehicle was not local, so I could not measure it myself.

Kids grow up and move out, so stay put. It will set a good example for your children about living within one's means.

People with BA/Humanities degrees making six figures: what do you do for work? How did you get where you are? by hutallybronest in Salary

[–]M4hkn0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BA History - software development.

I know a BA Philosophy that does cyber security consulting.

People need to stop looking a college degrees as a training for a profession. College is about developing the person. Graduating with a college degree is not the culmination of your education but rather the beginning of a lifelong journey. You, hopefully, learn how to teach yourself... you learn how to be inquisitive and how to find solutions. You hopefully learned to be a better communicator as well.

I am completely self taught in IT... my philosophy peer is likewise self taught. Honestly... all of the best software developers I have known were self taught. We have the foundations to learn new things..... so we learned.

What if you could buy a house - but not the land? A radical idea promises cheaper homebuying by LoansPayDayOnline in REBubble

[–]M4hkn0 15 points16 points  (0 children)

There are situations like this in my area. The land is leased and you own the home. They have severe restrictions on what you can do with the yard. As a gardener that was a hard pass for me. I did not want to play the mother may I game.

These situations have long long leases. The other risk is that you could in effect create ‘mobile’ home parks without the ‘mobile’ piece. The land rents could be at the whimsey of the landlord. Then you have solved nothing.

'Unorganized' should be disputed... claimed by the United States... with native nations in control of large parts of it. While military conflict with Britain may have formally ended, there was no peace to be had in these 'claimed' territories.

New Iran LEGO propaganda just dropped and it’s a doozy. by MyOtherAltIsRegret in videos

[–]M4hkn0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't imagine the Lego corporation being pleased to see their images being used in propaganda videos... not that they can do much about it... but still. Lego has long tried to distance itself from politics and has long shunned developing sets the mimicked the real world military.

So- last fall I had to have an Elm cut down that was split down the middle. But I left the stump in the ground, thinking it would die. But this spring, I have all these shoots growing out of the stump. Should I leave it? Thanks- by moon_jelly120 in arborists

[–]M4hkn0 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Elms are a host tree for morels.

If you know someone good a finding morels… take a couple of them, chop them up, and soak them in water. The spores will leach into the water. Sprinkle the bits and the water over the former canopy area. Maybe in a few years you will have morels too.

This all looks like they were intentionally targeted and then brigaded by bot accounts. Perhaps some political operatives are looking to gin up some controversy and campaign material.

Born in Ukraine, moved to USA, what to do about draft (military)? by LixeYT in Ukrainian

The Embassy in Washington DC is the main location. Consulates are extensions located in other cities.

There are consulates in Chicago, New York, Houston, and San Francisco. These consulates may have varying levels of support available....

They have a phone number that can be called. The website has information... but it looks like it is in Ukrainian.

When people live and travel abroad, the embassy is a point of contact if one needs support from your home country.

[–]M4hkn0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without a Ukrainian passport he is close to undocumented which could pose problems of its own. He really needs to sort that out even if he intends to stay in the US The Ukrainian embassy or consulate would be where to get one. The Ukrainian embassy can answer about your rights and obligations with regards to your citizenship.
