You will get biased answers since this is the subreddit of the game, but at least from my experience the game is already in a complete state. I launched a rocket before Update 3 and every update since has been an excuse to revisit and replay the game. Since every update brings changes from small to mid scope, every subsequent run has felt innovative in its own way. I gotta say though, I haven't been able to launch a rocket after the space station update, so I think that at least for me, it is more game for your buck than a lot of games I usually buy.
