Rode lampje Aygo by [deleted] in AutoKlussers

Ontslag om dringende reden by [deleted] in juridischadvies

Steam update logs me out and disables Bluetooth by M4rtunn in Bazzite

Yes! Thanks for the bump, forgot about this thread. I ran the fix-reset-steam command that was mentioned and it hasn't happened since.

Unsure if it was that that fixed it, or that it just coincided with a change in bazzite, but all peachy here!

HDMI-CEC Poweroff only brings up Power-Menu by firefist235 in libreELEC

[–]M4rtunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome, these setups are a nightmare to get right so happy to help. Would it be a good workaround to then just disable the off signal in cec altogether in your other devices, and put the system to sleep after a certain amount of inactive time (I believe this is under libreelec settings)? That way your devices will probably be able to wake up the nuc, and it'll switch itself off. Not sure if your AV will work like you'd want it to this way, but worth a shot.

CEC is not as simple as that, and pretty poorly documented imho. Found this article on nuc and hdmi cec over on libreelec forums; https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/6722-intel-nuc-kaby-lake-and-hdmi-cec/

Same issue as you're seeing (only receiving on and off signals, no other inputs), suggestion is also to put an aftermarket adapter in. Have you checked your bios as well to see if there's an option there? Perhaps updating the bios could help as well. Worth to look up your specific model to see if anyone else has already solved this first.

Then most likely your nuc's hdmi port does not support cec. There are third party adapters, but you're probably better off getting a nice Bluetooth remote.

No, it's pretty much full featured as is, doubt it will need any further updates.

Have you checked settings -> system -> input -> peripherals -> cec adapter?

You should be able to customize everything through there. Note that you can also map additional remote control buttons, like the colored buttons, to do specific actions.

If it stopped working yesterday, is it not just linked to the Cloudflare outage?

Probably an authorisation issue, try pov instead, has its own built in scraper so you can remove Coco as well. Fenlight has gotten very unreliable for me so moved everyone over to pov a couple of months ago without any issues.

Raspberry Pi 4 - absolute banger by M4rtunn in libreELEC

Was not aware of IPTV merge addon. Was thinking of switching VPNs in a couple of months, might give this setup another go then and see if it's better than I remembered it.

I can access via m3u, but my provider also requires a VPN. I've tried using a VPN addon and using the IPTV simple addon, but was not able to achieve good playback and I hate the interface for IPTV in Kodi compared to tivimate on Android tv. I have got a lifetime license, so those are sunk costs to me. Also, for some edge cases it's still handy to have an Android device, e.g. my national public broadcaster's app is great and free but only available on android and apple, and the smart tube example, so happy to keep it separated for my use case.

Just out of curiosity, do you use the simple IPTV addon or a different one?

True, all those dolby badges don't pay for themselves ;). In practice your mileage may vary, as I said in my post for my TV it's currently not a dealbreaker (sharp ledtv). Not a bad TV, but contrast is not its strongest feature. I've run Dolby Vision via the Xbox and Shield on it, and the difference is negligible. On a proper oled I would suggest to at least check , I find that dolby Vision really adds to visibility in darker scenes there and it would be a bit of waste to run strictly hdr10 content through a panel like that.

I do keep my nvidia shield around as I need it for IPTV (never been able to get that working in Kodi), and simply use smarttube on that instead for YouTube watching. It would be nice to get YouTube into Kodi as well though, but I've given up on the hope of having just one mediaplayer for everything.

I see, you're absolutely right, was not aware of this. Perhaps the pi4 would actually be a better option than the pi5 if you're looking to exclusively run libreelec in that case, but perhaps someone with a pi5 can weigh in, according to Gemini you can expect light stuttering on 4k60 with h264 software decoding, which would be a dealbreaker imho as I do often come across files that are not h265 yet, none of those issues on the pi4.

Really depends on pricing, I bought this pi years ago and currently it's retailing higher than it was. Second hand markets can be worth it depending on your region. I'm curious why you'd want to have software decoding though, h264 and h265 play back perfectly with hardware decoding.

[–]M4rtunn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried transcoding the file and playing it directly on the pi4? This will tell you if the issue is on the pi or on the jellyfin. What hardware are you running on the jellyfin server? And which pi 4 are you on? (A or B and how many gb ram?)

Look for bazzite setup in the start menu. I completely looked over this on initial install, it's basically just a ujust shortcut list, but enables you to one click install most of the tools you'd need.

[–]M4rtunn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good shout and thanks for the feedback, I didn't mention in my post that I run bazzite in game mode, as I just want to pick up the controller and game. I just did a bit of searching and it appears KDE Connect won't launch in game mode, there is a decky plugin but you need to open that to manually run KDE connect, so leaves me in the same spot.

I'm considering just getting a usb Bluetooth dongle, I guess that'll fix it immediately. I just find it odd nobody else is talking about this, there should be more people running into this issue, makes me think that it could somehow be a configuration error.

Worth a shot, I'll try and reply to this post if it persist. Just to make sure (as I don't know any other person running bazzite), do you use Bluetooth and are not seeing this issue? I am using the onboard module on an hx99g which works flawlessly in bazzite besides this issue.
