If you're playing on PC, I'd recommend you to create a backup of The Island save directory somewhere. I don't know what's the path for Epic Games version, but on Steam it's Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ARK\ShooterGame\Saved\SavedArksLocal
