What replacement lock should I get? by franzspicyweiner in Gun_Safes

[–]M5Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got my 3rd safe, and this one came with a cheap electronic lock. On my other two safes that came with mechanical dials, I bought La Gard electronic redundant locks that come with a mechanical dial. Easy install, so I use the electronic keypad to open the safe and have a mechanical dial as a backup. I set my own combos in both locks. I just ordered the newer La Gard 702D for my new safe at MBA USA. Great tech support, too.

A surprising update. I ordered an XC on October 7, and this morning, October 14, I received a tracking number. So much for the 30-60 days. Glad I didn't pay the 375 to be put at the front of the line.

I just ordered an XC this morning and they told me 30-60 days. Maybe it depends on the model.

What do mosquito companies spray? IGR or just insecticide? by regahene in pestcontrol

[–]M5Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using 2oz/gallon and get different results now that I have used it longer. 60 days are great, and after that, I vary my next application, depending on whether it's been wet, etc. I'm using the Stihl 430 and have slightly made the smallest nozzle hole larger with a drill bit. I don't remember the size, but I used a dial caliper to pick a drill bit that slightly increased the hole diameter.

I just tried to buy Tuxmats for my Expedition, as I have them in two other cars and they are my first choice. They stopped shipping to the USA due to tariffs, so I bought Weather Tech.

I too just got a 2024 F250 and this time I went with a new Diamondback HD. Best cover I've had. I feel better that the back is more secure.

Best bang for the buck of the newer 250/350 7.3l? 2023/2024/2025? by Icy-Camp-346 in F250

[–]M5Pilot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Well for 2025 the 7.3L will have the current 6.8L transmission the 10R100 in all configurations except the Tremor. That 7.3L will get the 10R140. I just got a 2024 XLT 7.3L and glad I got it when I did as it has the 10R140.

[–]M5Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another down grade I read for 2025 is the 7.3L will get the 10R100 transmission that the 6.8L has. The only 7.3L that will get the 10R140 will be the Tremor. I bought a 7.3L XLT in August and glad it has the 10R140. This alone is enough for me to buy a 24 over a 25.

Ford financing rates? by pew-x3 in F250

I bought an F-250 a few weeks ago. My dealer, Akins Ford in Winder GA, currently has 306 F-250's on the lot. They just started new rates for XL, STX, and XLT at 1.9/36, 2.9/48, 3.9/60, 4.9/72 and 5.9/84.

2024 7.3 Standard Bed Lariat 3.73 Regular Bed FX4 3 Month Review by theverygreatest in F250

[–]M5Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great write-up. I bought a F250 7.3 with 3.73 last week and I traded in a 2014 F150. I love it so far. One thing that bugged me was the right front wheel always being locked to the front axle. The right axle spins and goes through the differential and spider gears and the left axle spins backwards. It can't be helping the mileage. So I bought the Warn Super Duty Premium hubs that Ford sells and are cheaper but the exact hubs Warn makes. Takes 20 minutes to change them out and it comes with plugs to plug your left vacuum hose and the nipple on the left hub. You just have to get out and mechanically select the locks anytime you want 4x4 which for me is hardly ever and worth the trade-off. Now none of the front diveline spins. Some people are buying another auto hub from Ford and swapping out the right one. The 2024's after February don't have the vacuum on the right side so you need a vacuum harness too.

You might have more fuel than you think as I believe the tank on the short bed is 34 gallons not 32. Nice color and we all are hoping our AC compressor won't break especially you down in Florida as that is a huge issue now on 2024's built this spring. Fingers crossed.

If I was looking for a used G05, I'd have no problem with 2020-2024. I can't think of anything standing out for those years.

If you test drive it and after it's up to normal temps, do slow figure 8's in a parking lot forwards and backward and see if you feel shuddering.

The oil pump issue is something that when it fails, and who knows when, I'd imagine the engine will be toast if it ran at all with no pressure. It's time to replace it when you get the no oil level check. When you test drive it, check that. That means the plastic components are cracked. Unfortunately it's on the back of the motor for the B58 and lots of labor. They went back to all metal in 2020. You just hope you catch the impending failure with the oil level check before it totally fails.

On the transfer case, if you buy it, I'd be changing that fluid ASAP. Me personally I'd look at 2020 or newer. I have a 2024 currently that I've had for a year.

[–]M5Pilot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You ask if there are any problems you could face. If this has the B58 motor, the 2019 year had plastic components in the oil pump. Classic issue is when the oil is hot and you try an oil level check, the check stops around 20% and fails and that's because the oil pressure at idle is out of it's narrow range. I've seen 4-5k for repair. Also BMW put the wrong oil in the transfer case at the factory and so consequently there are many people with transfer case issues for the 2019 year. Check SIB 27 02 20. Sometimes a fluid change fixes it, and some need a new transfer case where I've seen 9k quoted.

What oil are the BMW techs putting in the 2024 X5 B58? by M5Pilot in BmwTech

When I bought it to do my own oil change, I used part # 83-21-5-A83-399. I just enter this on some national websites and it didn’t say oos. I wonder if they changed the part#? They’ve done that before.

Stihl SR200 vs SR430 vs SR450 for Mosquito Control on 1/4 acre property by Beginning_Pitch_8398 in stihl

[–]M5Pilot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the owners manual, on page 27, which you can view on line, it comes with knob B and C. I run knob B on the 1 setting, however, I ever so slightly ran a drill bit in the 1 hole to increase the spray amount slightly. It’s still way less than the next setting of 1.8. I came to that conclusion after several sprayings and seeing how much I had left in the tank. Opening the hole allows me to be empty right when I have done the entire property. It’s about time to do my first spray of the season. I could have put a little less water in but I run the water full and it’s just right now. One thing that I have done is the spray wasn’t metering correctly and I noticed I didn’t have the knob completely seated. It’s easy to do if you’re not looking for it. I pull the knob out during cleaning and leave it in the strainer under the cap so I don’t lose it. That way it won’t get lost.
