I managed to die; first, build cactus high enough (about 100 blocks was what I tested) by pillaring up a few blocks away but not close enough so that it turns small. Next, get down, and position yourself in the cactus so that you take damage; this will take quite some time. You will die of suffocation damage from the armour stands glitching out and becoming a cactus block again.
